in a couple of weeks time our family (me, the missus and the kids) are having a party, with six other familes who we have known for years. The purpose of the party is to say goodbye to each of the family's 18 years olds who are all about to go off to uni. We have hired one of our local caffs for the night and are having food, drink and, er, disco dancing. Everyone who is going has been asked to provide one favourite song for background music whilst we eat and two to dance to for when the tables are cleared and the dance floor is open. Two things:

(1) What should I choose? The Fall's Mr.Pharmacist is looking a good bet but I can't decide what else to put with it. And as for the quieter one... I'm veering towards geting some really long and lovely like Dylan's Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowland but it might just not quite hit the right spot.

(2) I am going to havbe to kill some people I know. The utter shoite that has been suggested by some people is unbelievable. One woman in particular has suggested BOTH George Benson's The Greatest Love Of All AND AND The Lighthouse Family. No jury would convict I'm sure.
