1.Torres vs Reading. Perfect strikers display , not seen as good a performance since Ronaldo scored his hat-trick at old Trafford. His third goal was so brilliantly taken too.

 

2. Gerrard vs Newcastle. Unplayable. Had a massive hand in two goals (the Babel one was our best team goal of the season) and his free-kick was awesome.

 

3. Mascherano vs Inter (h). His best performance of the season and he carried Lucas too against some of the very top midfielders in the game.

 

4. Alonso vs Chelsea. Sublime , a footballing clinic.

 

5. Babel vs bolton. Not completly sold on him yet but its this type of display that makes me think he could be a very good player. Was very good that day.

Gerrard v Aston Villa on the opening day was a quality performance.

Torres against Reading was utterly brilliant. He was smashed into time and time again and still scored a hattrick. Superb performance.

People will laugh but one of the good performances of the season was Voronin at home to Spurs. He scored that day, ran the whole length of the pitch and made 2 or 3 last ditch tackles to prevent them. People were raving about him that day.

Not better than either of his league hat-trick surely? Honary mentions to Reina at ot , Hyypia in the merseyside derby and quite a few Mascherano performances.
