Got a call today from our estate agents...

I have mentioned on here a couple of times about us moving house. Anyway.... We are due to move into the house we are buying in 2 weeks time. We are halfway through packing and are keen to get in.

Anyway, got a phone call today from the estate agent saying the girl who had agreed to buy our house has now pulled out!! Apparently she now wants to wait 6 months to see what is happening with the market. She was all set to move into ours in 2 weeks as well!! So now because of her we have wasted about 5 months and god knows how much money for us now to lose the house we are supposed to move into and be back at square one....

The estate agent said that she didn't even have the nerve to ring them and pull out... she got her dad to do it.

The estate agents got in touch with her and she said that she had seen a 3 bedroom property for the same amount as our 2 bedroom property... the estate agengt asked what the area it was in was like or the condition of it and she said she hadn't been to see it yet

Had to come home from work as the wife was distraught and had found out the girls address and was ready to go round and kick off...

gutted :(

Why the f*** don't we have the same system as they have in Scotland? People shouldn't be able to mess about with peoples lives like this...

ah poor ye...that's awful to hear. I can understand that you were planning and hoping for a new life in a new house etc and she's just wrecked it

Hopefully something better will come out of this, thinking of karma and all that

Change the laws.

In Norway a bid is binding, something like this would never have happened.

Maurice Ross, the former Rangers, Sheff Wed, Wolves and Millwall player, now playing for Viking FK had made a bid for an apartement here in Stavanger and then chamged his mind, the owner sued him since the new buyer did not bid the same amount and Ross had to stand trial, I have sympathy for him though since he probably did not know the Norwegian laws, but either way he lost and had to pay compensation both the former owner and the estate agents, I think it was £50-60.000.

mate, i can't believe this after all you've gone through so far to even get to this point.. as i've mentioned previously when you've discussed this i've been in this position myself and it's fkin gutting.. my Mrs was pregnant at the time and had everything planned for the new house with regards to nursery, extension/conservatory etc etc and it really was a kick in the balls..

Hopefully something better will come out of this, thinking of karma and all that

now, normally, i'd say something like this is a load of rubbish! :D at the time our house move fell through anyone that said "it was meant to be" an all that i told them to f*** off.........BUT it has actually worked to our advantage in way - we're both glad we didn't move now and we've got our sights set on somewhere bigger and better, though it could be another few years before we get there.. i seriously think that Barnesy's not gonna feel that way though!
