went in to phones4u today to look at new handsets, sat down and spoke with one of the sales people who offered the handset i wanted, told me that my contract would be exactly the same as the last one i signed (half price line rental for 12 months) and if i changed my mind i could return the phone within 14 days.

get home and phone vodafone to check everything was as promised and they tell me there is no half price line rental. so i phone phones4u and speak to the manager who tells me that i was never promised those things and i cant return the phone because it was an upgrade. i know i asked the 2 sales people repeatedly if the contract was going to be exactly the same and they kept saying yes and any problems i can return it..

any legal eagles offer any advise or am i stuck with the lousy contract, will phone oftel and trading standards etc on monday but i didnt record the conversation (because im not a paranoid lunatic) so cant prove that they said those things. i assumed there was a cooling off period with any contract signed but from a quick google it seems lots of people have similar problems, shocking for one of the larger high street shops to need to rob the public
