Bring Back the Big F-Off Oval Liver Bird Badge

All this fancy poncy beading and piping and long sleeves and short sleeves and yes-collars and no-collars and light weight and ultra-lightweigt and advertise this and advertise that. Put the big F-Off badge back on the shirt.

Check out Crazy Horse's avitar.

The current badge is a monstrosity. I love the Shankly gates but why incorporate them into the badge. The Liverbird is our badge, it should look like a Liverbird.

This is exactly the kind of thing we could vote on if the fans ownership scheme ever got off the ground.

Who would have imagined Barcelona turning their back on a corporate shirt sponsor and going for Unicef ?

Never going to happen though since the club doesn't hold the rights to the liverbird..

thats not an issue. Its not a copyrighted image and wasn't the reason we changed the badge design in the 90s.

Booster mate - put it forward to the lads at sonsofshankly - am sure many fans would like to a return of a simpler badge with a larger Liverbird on the shirt.

The mock up I'm talking about had those alongside the Liverbird. Could be easily done. Could even be copyrighted I'm sure.

well that will do

Are you sure about that? I remember Parry mentioning the rights thing a couple of years ago when there were talks about the same thing.

Tell me, who owns the rights to a mythical bird ? Its not a registered trademark and its used in various ways by different public and religious organisations.

Its like saying a lion is a protected image. You find it in heraldry, in coats of arms, in the trademarks of banks, in all sorts of places.

Well, that is excactly the problem. The club wouldn't make any money from selling souveniers without a trademarked badge.

Zeus?

Just look at that badge (agree Dee re the flames), would put the shytes up teams to see that. Would love to see the mock up if anyone has it.

Obey - Think Merseys' point is that anyone/everyone could replicate the badge without fear. FFS you should see Nutts Corner market if you're worried about dud replicas!

They have to do this before they start on any new stadium ends up with the current affront to the eyes pasted all over it.

what about the version of the bird with the ball at its foot though, what happened to that?
