I can see what Rafa was doing, he has rested him for the 1st half of the season and will now play him more to push for the title.

While i think he should be sold in the summer, if Rafa came out and said that from this point his front pair was Crouch/Torres every game i'd be happy. Forget rotation, forget resting players. These are my guys, i'm gonna play them game in game out and let them form a partnership

But deep down i know that Kuyt or Voronin will be in against Chelsea

Ant in sarcastic dig at player/manager/owner/crowd in after match topic shocker.

I can't remember when I last had a dig at a player or the crowd.

Just seeing what Crouch and Torres did for themselves in one game was brilliant, partnerships need time, Rafa hasn't given this one it despite what Crouch can do, and what Torres can do.

They compliment eachother very well.

Having said that like McBain said Crouch will probably not feature v Chelsea.

Genius!

They were both quite poor overall. Crouch came alive for 10 mins, Torres for 30 seconds. I suppose that's the nature of the position and the assessment you get, scoring is the be all and end all.

I thought given the service they both got they did what they could.

They where ace.

He was sensational

took his goal well

Sensational???????????????????????????

In my view they didn't look like a partnership today, but they deserve to start again to see if they can form one as the other options are so poor.

Wouldn't be suprised to see one up front against Chelsea though

It was irony in the face of irony, I quite agree with you in fact

Apologies, my irony detector must be broken

I can only hope Ant was being ironic calling them 'ace' then

Behave.

They both took their goals well, but were otherwise no better than the Jones lad up front for them. It's the nature of the position, it comes down to goals, but if you're discussing performance, they were both poor.

Nah thats one thing I wasn't being ironic about.

They where top draw and looked like a partnership, something which we have lacked.

Crouch was as awful as anyone else in the first half and didn't seem to fit in with Torres at all. Good goal though and nearly had a brilliant 2nd. Far removed from the s**** he displayed against Havant though. Hope he starts next week

Got to disagree. I think they only linked up once. Although admitedly that was for the goal.

They have not looked like a partnership at all for us.

However, a partnership MAY grow, and they are also two lads who both know where the goal is, which, given the other options at the moment, means they deserve another go in my opinion.

As I said, they done well with what was infront of them.

Other than that I agree.

Thought they both werent great, but scored their goals so cant complain about them.

Honestly, I didn't see any improvement. Our performance was rather poor, Crouch included, till the moment he scored.

But do we have any alternative for Chelsea? Defunitely, no.

Big jump from that to 'top draw' though

ANyway, sod it. Its saturday night. I'm going out

Why I wanna knee-jerk some more?
