RIP Bill Jones....my grandad

I don't really post about my family on here. But I feel I have to mention this. My grandad took a tumble a few months ago down the stairs in his house. He ended up breaking his clavicle and several cuts and bumps to his head. Anyway what was even worse about this was my gran was at the bottom of the stairs. She ended up with a broken ankle. It took her over two hours to get the phone at the other end of the hallway.

Long at short of it was they were carted off to hospital and social services got involved. Grandad had to go into a nursing home and my gran was allowed to go home when she was well enough. Bear in mind they have been together for the last 63 years.

So my grandad wasn't too keen on this idea and just generally gave up. He stopped eating his meals and taking care of himself. So much so that he suffered a stroke on the 4th December and was admnitted back into hospital. Sunday 9th the doctors told us that they were stopping his medication and were going to remove the drip. He weighed just over 8 stone. We were allowed to go and visit anytime we wanted.

All he wanted to do was go home and get into his own bed a slip away.

The stubborn get managed to hang on until Sunday 16th where at 0830 he passed away peacfully in his sleep.

All I really wanted to say was he top man and if it hadn't been for him I'd have either of been an Evertonion or worse still a Manc.

So God bless you Bill Jones...rest easy..... you deserve it.
