Double win for comic Lee Collins

Comedian Justin Lee Collins was the big winner at the Loaded Laftas Comedy Awards, scooping two prizes.

Collins picked up the funniest man prize and the funniest double act award with his Channel 4 Friday Night Project co-star Alan Carr.

Michelle Gomez, star of TV comedy drama Green Wing, was named funniest woman.

Vic Reeves, who was honoured with the Laftas legend award, said: "It's the most fantastic thing ever... this is the best compliment."

Reeves is best known for his work with comedy partner Bob Mortimer, with shows such as Shooting Stars.

Collins and Carr also won funniest double act last year, along with funniest TV show for the Friday Night Project.

Public vote

Other winners included David Gest, who picked up the prize for funniest reality TV person.

Radio One DJ Scott Mills won the funniest radio show award, beating colleague Chris Moyles.

The Mighty Boosh was named funniest TV programme, with Hot Fuzz taking home the best film prize.

Last year's funniest man winner, Russell Brand, was nominated for three awards - best stand-up, funniest newspaper columnist and funniest man - but went home empty-handed.

The Loaded Laftas began in 2003 - winners are voted for by readers of magazine Loaded.
