Anyone else go today to see the prologue in London?

Just back ourselves. Saw them on the out and back piece on Constitution road, or whatever it is called, so we had two riders every minute or so in either direction ( and some shade). About a half mile from the finish.

A few of those riders are big lads ( and conversely a few are right skinny). Great support for the Brits and anyone riding for T Mobile. Very knowledgeable crowd around us, who knew each riders name as they arrived, rather than squinting at the accompanying car.

We could hear some of the commentary by the big screen in Green Park and few people were running back and forth back to see the rider who had just passed us, finish and get the latest standings.

Very exciting, massive crowds and the entire day was a boost to the Tour and London.

I will not see much of the race this year as I am out of the country for three weeks from Saturday. Always enjoy the Tour and the amazing tv pics - one of my favourites being the stage where the horse riders race along beside the peloton and get beaten by the cyclists each year. Beautiful scenery, stunning endeavour and some of the best sports books you can read have been written about this race. I still don't know how any one of them ever does complete the race without drugs. Should be compluslory.

Best historical read is by Geoffrey Wheatcroft - called unsurprisingly "Le Tour".
