I've been running regularly for the last few years and are currently running 3-4 times a week, always with a days rest in between exercises. I run between 8-12 kilometers and as an example here's my program for this week:

Monday: 12 km

Tueday: rest

Wednesday: 8 km

Thursday: rest

Friday: 10 km

Saturday: rest

Sunday: 8 km

I primarily run on asphalt roads or sidewalks but occasionally I use the treadmill in the gym, or do some running in a nearby forest.

As I said I've been running for a long time and have the occasional bad knee or small injury which means I have to lay low for a week or so. However recently I've developed this pain in the neck... it usually starts when the muscles are cooling down, a few hours after I've been running. I can stop the pain by holding a heating bottle on the neck, so it's defenitely muscle pain - or at least I guess so? I've never had problems like this before and it's starting to annoy me.... My shoes are the same model I've used for ages and they have the max absorbtion of shoes available so I defenitely don't thnk it's the shoes. The shoes are only a couple of months old.

Any good advice?
