After Valdes' comments about how "lucky" Liverpool were, this is refreshing and the correct attitude shown:

Steven Gerrard reflected on Liverpool's brilliant victory in the Nou Camp and insisted: "There's still a lot of work to do."

Liverpool will defend a 2-1 lead when Frank Rijkaard's men on March 6 and although they're in a great position to qualify for the last eight, the skipper is taking nothing for granted.

 

"We've got an awful lot of respect for Barcelona, they're a fantastic side," he said.

 

"We won't under-estimate them at Anfield in two weeks' time, we'll show them the same respect.

 

"We need to put in the same shift in again and hopefully we'll qualify.

 

"We're in a good position and we're really pleased with that but the job is only half done. We'd probably have taken a draw before the game so to get a victory was a real bonus.

 

"In a funny sort of way I think what was said and written about us before the game brought the squad closer together. We knew everything had been blown out of all proportion and we were really keen to show how together we are."

we'll show them the same respect? as we did before or as they showed us.. i seem to remember them talking about gong to the cavern and basically enjoying a holiday?

yes I've just counted my chickens and I see 2 big away ones.. Love the fact that they were so arrogant. love the fact that they are now in a position where they really need to pull out all the stops. Lets give them a stuffing at anfield.. something to remember, maybe next time they think of liverpool they'll think of anfield and not the beatles.
