Some of you have met my eldest, he's been brought up properly, raised in 'the faith'. He loves the reds with all his heart but was seriously put to the test yesterday He plays U15 football but is in fact playing 'up' a year, he always has and copes pretty well. The club U14's have reached a cup semi final, they have one more league game which if they win they will play the runners up from the other league and in effect have an easier route to the cup final. The manager of the U14's spke with us last night, he wants Stephen to play in the last quarter final which makes him eligible to play in the semi final and final if they get there. They're trying to shoe horn him into their team which will cause a possible row as he will replace another kid, the manager wants hm to play in the next match as to put him straight into the semi will defintely cause resentment.

So there you have it, what a great opportunity he was well pleased, then the coup de grace.

'The quarter final is in a week on saturday morning'.

'Aren't we up at Anfield we're playing the mancs that day aren't we Dad?'

'Yes mate but this is a chance of a cup final'.

'Sorry, can't do it'.

and that was the end of that!!
