what a day out that was. I thought the place was rammed. Footage clearly shows it wasn't. Not only that I thought Paul Whelans goal was a belting volley. How time distorts the memory!

Oh and for those of you watching in black and white the commentry is in Welsh

I went to Wembley to see Stamford play and win in the FA Vase final against Gainsborough (Or Geeseborough or summat), Keith Alexander may have played, not sure. Great day out but was very disappointed when we got there to find wembley only half open. My dad said what do you expect? Most of Stamford and Gainsborough is here already, who else would/could come?.

Still, must have been great to say you scored at Wembley in a competetive game, no matter what the occasion or lack of crowd.

The clip's an extract from a programme called 'Bangor Lads' (my dad still has it on video somewhere I think) - I was 11 when we made the journey down to Wembley - and even made a quick appearance on that show!

Thanks for reminding me of it - a real blast from the past!

No worries. Happy to oblige. It remains my one and only visit to Wembley.......for the time being
