The People versus Richard Littlejohn

So, following my complaint to the Press Complaints Commission about Littledick's astonishing article on the Ipswich murders, They wrote back to me (with impressive speed) and said that they were aware of concern on the issue, but they usually only deal with complaints from people who are directly involved, and would I confirm whether I was. Or for what reason they should make an exception to their usual rules.

I wrote back to them pointing out that while I wasn?t directly involved, I wanted them to address the article due to:

 The scale of the offensiveness of the article

 The unlikelihood of those who were affected, being deceased, being able to respond, or their families, from whom the victims were either estranged or too struck with grief to be in a position to complain.

 The possibility of a more long term damage done to vulnerable people (sex workers and/or drug addicts) by the content and tone of the article.

Got a letter back this morning, saying that they would put it to the Commission for their view on whether they would be prepared to waive their usual rule in this case.

I?m still not confident, but I would love to get that b*stards balls on a platter.
