MICHAEL OWEN IS INJURED

WE DIDNT HAVE EXTRA MONEY

I agree with all that apart from your first line anny. We both know you can't keep to a promise like that

I wish Rafa hadn't wasted a fair chunk of 80 million over the past three years on 'possibilities'.

Rafa has been backed. Heavily.

That's absolute b****cks. The only two teams out of our reach in the league can afford to spend that money on two players ffs.

Oh, and there were the small matters of Rafa winning the CL & FA Cup.

Do one, please.

We're great in the Cups, but that's not the issue here, is it ? We're talking about the league.

We've spent more money than Man Utd since Rafa took over, that's the reality. Sure they spent 17m on Carrick, but we spent 7m on Pennant, 6m on Bellamy, 9m on Kuyt, etc etc

Ultimately it comes down to whether you think three years and 80 million is enough time and money to expect us to challenge for the title ? I do.

and 30m on Rooney and 30m on Ferdinand just before Rafa joined us......money that Rafa can only dream of right now.

Thats because Fergusons been at Utd for all that time and has been able to get the squad and team he wants, hes at the stage where he needs to add just maybe 1 or 2 big players each year.

Rafa as a new manager was always going to bring in lots of new players and move out lots of players, thats meant while he may have had the same amount of money to spend as Utd hes had to do much more surgery on the squad because GH left so many poor players.

I think hes assembled a very good squad with depth and quality in most positions now we need to add one or two top notch players that can fit straight into the first 11 and take us to the next level.

Sure, they've spent big in the past, as have we. The point I am essentially making is that when Rafa joined we were the fourth best side in the league, 80 million and three years later and we're.........the fourth best side in the league!

People who think the reason we're not challenging for the title is a lack of money are kidding themselves, in my opinion. Rafa's spent big, a lot of which has been unquestionably wasted. Pennant, Morientes etc.....

Wenger won the title having spent much less money.

I love Rafa for what he's done in the Cups, but if we finish fourth this season our last three years will read 5th, 3rd, 4th...

Is that really good enough ?

Are you f***ing stupid? He's competing against a team with a blank cheque and a team who still have plenty of players left from a title winning side who also have decent money available.

You are one negative t***, ive yet to see you post anything remotely positive.

I find it staggering that you're prepared to shift all blame from Rafa Benitez because Chelsea and Man Utd have spent more money. Wenger won the title with Arsenal having spent much less than Man Utd, hell, they even won it three years ago, when Chelsea had spent a s*** load of cash in Raneri's first season...

Have a look at the table lad ? We're 6th! That's right...not third, just behind the 'big two', we're 6th! f***ing 6th!

Pompey and Bolton are above us. Closer to the relegation zone than we are to Man Utd.

That's not me being 'negative', it's called realism, it's called fact.

I hate it, but there's no point sticking our head in the sand.

Where have I said he's completely blameless you blert? Oh, thats right, I havent have I?

Wenger won the title without Chelsea's blank cheque, forget to include that did we or leave it out on purpose?

You dont "hate" f*** all, you're just another moany fairweather fan who i'll guess sits in his armchair for every Liverpool game just whinging. Theres plenty of problems at the moment but you're a clueless, negative beaut.

That's an incorrect cheap assumption, mate, which was fairly uneccessary to be honest.

Not that i need to justify myself, but I'll be there at Spurs on Saturday and Bolton on New Years Day....

P.s Wenger won the title in Roman's first season....

Yeah, and? Did you honestly think a s***load of signings could settle quickly enough to turn a 4th place team into Champions in one season?

Well done, that shows just how stupid you are.

You're coming across as very agressive.

The point still stands, Arsenal won the title despite Roman's millions and won it previously when faced with massive spending from Man Utd. You're speaking like it's impossible to win a title when a club has spent more money....which is quite frankly, b******s.

I'm not even saying we should be winning league titles, I'm saying we should be challenging for league titles.

In my opinion, Rafa's had sufficient time and money to be able to put us in this position....

Am I? Or is this you making stuff up again?

You're one talking about challenging because the manager has had 80m or whatever to spend in 3 seasons while also having to sell loads of players aswell, yet while obsessed with what we've spent seem to forget we're up against a team who if they wanted could go and blitz our 3 seasons spend in this January transfer window. Do you see yet? The other team up there have have plenty of other players who've been there done it and have been able to add £30m players to their squad without having to sell to finance the deals. If you're going on the finance point of view we have no right to get anywhere near the title. In recent years Utd had the squad and could spend massive money, we had big money but no squad see the difference? We've now got a good squad which needs more quality and hopefully we can get that now we dont need as many squad players.

He hasnt had enough time or money yet, its remarkable how easy you seem to think winning/challenging for the title is. Bizarre.

Not getting or letting Owen go to Newcastle was a mistake of the highest proportion.

Yes, he's injured but he got injured playing for Newcastle and came back to early for England, if he was playing for us that injury might not have happened.

We need a poacher, we need a regular scorer, we need someone who can bag 20 goals a season in the league.

We need Owen or Defoe - end of.

b******s

An how about we wait till the end of the season before writing off Kuyt as another striker who can't bag 20 a term, eh?

Owen can f*** off well and truly. He f***ed off without giving Rafa a chance so to me he is the past and he can rot in the bed he made.

He's made for Newcastle.

If he was playing for us that might never happened? How do you come to that conclusion? Was he magically immune to injuries when he played for us? Or was he so dedicated to this club that he wouldn't have put England first?

No-one knows if he would have been injured or not, but he would not have had that particular injury at that particular time.

by that reasoning then Michael would have got a career ending injury had he come back to us so it looks like his decision to join Newcastle was a good thing.............
