the two worst culprits off the top of my head are:

 

wicked game - chris isaak. moody, monochrome, arty and earnest. it doesn't get much worse. can't bear the song either.

 

don't look back in anger - oasis. 'quirky', unoriginal, arty (again) and appallingly retro. noel gallagher tries hard to look cool.
