No, idea. Maybe to prevent Momo getting sent off.

 

By then though we were dominating the midfield so taking Momo off was a calculated risk. Would have been better if we could have brough a player on with more a goal threat.

 

 

Perhaps my post wasnt clear enough. He obviously took Momo off as he was going to walk otherwise. He made, IMO the sensible sub by bringing on Bolo. If he brought on Luis at that stage it could have tipped the balance more in the chavs favour. As i said, we were on top at that stage, so why change it siginificantly by bringing on Luis?

Because we needed a matchwinner.

 

Maybe it would have tipped the balance in their favour (I doubt it though - they were content to see it out by then). By that stage risks needed to be taken and Louis would have been perfect to come on. Even Gonzalez would have offered more of a goal threat.

 

I can see the wisdom in having a reserve central midfielder on the bench, but I think if only from the bench Garcia offers an option for this sort of game, that is pretty unique.

He couldn't have brought Luis on anyway as he wasn't on the bench in the first place. The bench was Dudek, Hyypia, Aurelio, Zenden and Crouch.

Garcia has been ace this season playing as a second striker. Would've liked to see him ahead of Bellamy to be honest.

Mine too - he's worth having as an option in this sort of game, as he can come and score from nothing. One of the few players we have who can.

As frustrating as he can be we desperately need his spontanuity and willingness to score a killer goal. .
