9 points off the top with a game in hand (8 off Chelsea and ManU). Isn't over by a long stretch, but the next two matches will be vital for us. No less than 6 points will do.

Our next 5 games are Newcastle (h), Spurs (h), Bolton (a), Blackburn (h) and Man U (a). We really need at least 13 points from those 5 matches. With 17 points or better from 9 we'd still be well in it and ahead of our total for the same period last season. I'm feeling better already.

Arsenal saved our arses today. I never expected us to win the title but to be in with a shout past October, for once. Concentrate on beating newcastle and spurs and we're back in. 5 points with 30 odd games to go is nothing. We overhauled an 8 (?) point gap on the mancs towards the end of the last season despite their form being decent, just ours was immaculate.
