Guest sniffer Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Anyone else hear the story about Makalele on the TV? Seems he wants to retire from international football but France won't let him. They have threatened that if he doesn't report when he's been picked they will ensure that he is banned from playing for Chelski for two games for every French match he misses. So he's had to go to France now for the next two games otherwise Chelski will not be able to play him for four matches. Absolutely outrageous. I am unaware that they could do this Good job we don't have any french players anymore. Wonder if this could apply to England? I'm mindful of RAFA's complaint that Norway have called up Riise even though he is patently injured for the next three weeks.
Murphman Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Mourinho was on complaining bitterly. Just for once I agrre with him.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 excellent. Good ol' Frenchies if true. Er, why can't he just hold a press conf & publicly announce his int'l retirement?
AnfieldWestGaffer Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Imagine if he sustains an injury....fallout will be horrendous!

Knox_Harrington Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 (edited) If he hasn't retired but written a nice letter asking to sit the next two out then they have every right to ask him to turn up. Whether or not they should is a different matter. Edited August 27, 2006 by Knox_Harrington
stressederic Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 He should just go and play rubbish or, even better, just stand there during the game. Ah the Carlton Palmer tactic. Cunning.
