I thought Gerrards passing was poor,by his very high standards.

 

Also Momo and Zenden were afraid of the ball yesterday and would run away from the defenders. When they did have the ball they would waste possesion.

 

In future Gerrard or Alonso has to start in the middle to dictate play.

Actually, I was very disappointed with Momo - I just expect him to destroy midfields like Shffield's all the time and he didn't quite do that. I now expect him to be there at the heels of every opposing player who has a ball anywhere on the pitch!!

The boy has raised my expectations too high for his own good!

It was a lacklustre performance all round. Probably the type of match Crouch and Kuyt would start once the season is well under way.

we didn't have gerrard or alonso in the middle v chelsea and everyone was raving about the middle duo that day. Zenden and sissoko had enough to do the job today and they just didn't.

Perhaps the hype has effected the players, they didn't put in as much as effort as they should have until we were a goal down.
