the ipod shuffle is $99

the ipod nano is $149

 

both 1gb and can hold up to 240 songs

 

is it worth me shelling out the extra dollarage on the nano?

Probably worth the extra 50. That way you get playlists, album art and a lot more control.

 

The shuffle is more durable, non-scratch, throw on the floor-able and mine has lasted years and many marathons.

I would wait if I were you as Apple may be launching a new nano on the 7th August. Prices for older models may also drop, so you may get more than you hoped for.
