What with Doug Ellis seemingly wanting big money for Baros, anyone know if there is a sell on clause in his contract?

I put this in this forum because obviously if there is it would affect us.

Thing that gets me about that potential transfer is that they say he would still command a fee of £8m - What the f***? He is golden boot in the Euro Champs then helps us win the CL and we get £7m for him then he goes to Villa has an average season and puts £1m on his value. How in the hell does that work?

Because he didn't have long left on his contract with us. It was either offer him a new one, or get some much needed spends in.

Would he command £8 mill right now? I don't think I'd be overly impressed if we paid £8 mill for him after the poor season he just had.

As for the fee we got for him - Lyon offered more, but he dug his heels in and wouldn't move there. Thats the way it goes.

villa don't really want to sell or at least if they do want to sell, they want to make a profit. so if someone offers 7m, they probably go fu(k it, we might as well keep him. but last i read on it, the deal fell through because hamburg wouldn't pay 8m.

Emile Heskey seems to have set some sort of f***ed up precedent
