September Sun

[Case]

I'd like to get away for a week in lateish September with my wife. We can't fly TOO far as she has M.E. and finds it difficult to cope with too long in Airports / on plane etc.. etc....

 

so....

 

Where can we find that's about a 3 hour flight or so ( 4 hours + to The Canaries is too far for example ...) where we can get a bit of Sun (or at least not need our fleeced coats) and a bit of local culture (good restaurants, bars maybe..) without being Britain by the Sea (ie... No Benidorm or the like...).

 

Is there anywhere on the Spanish mainland or France maybe that anyone can reccomend?
