  1. Disapointed in Arbeloa and the quotes about Alonso. We rescued the guy from relative obscurity after Madrid didn't want him and mouled him into a good international right back, and yet he couldn't wait to get back there. The least he could have done was sign an extension so we could get full whack. He'll last a season there before he's shipped out as part of the next 'project'.

  3. Old news now but the correct verdict, IMO. Should never have even got to trial.
  4. Thank god for that. My eyes are bleeding from reading RAWK's transfer forum.

Arsenal at the Emirates in the middle game of the triple header was the one that stands out for me. Before his injury I remember him working really hard.

I think that was the Arsenal game after he'd just come back from inury. Mud sticks, unfortunately.
  7. More Marca spin. If the Silva deal is dependant on Alonso going, I hope we've got an alternative if he stays. Zirchov would have been ideal for 18 million.

  9. You sound very bitter. He lost his appetite for the game when we sold him, and his lack of mobility was down to his bad injuries, same as 'Mr Professional' Owen. Fat or not, Robbie would never have gone to the mancs.

  11. Surely it's his form for us that counts? He was heartbroken when he left us, and that's why he was never the same again, which proves the point I made about the difference in character to Owen, who only ever cared about his career. Fowler was sold as part of Houllier's new powerful grip on the club, not for football reasons.
  12. Not sure what that's got to do with anything, but it certainly wasn't a good decision to sell our most naturally gifted striker and one of the best finishers in football for ego reasons. But at least we still had Heskey...

  14. Is that Moe again?
  15. Insua is getting there. Needs to lay off the chippy meals though. I can't see anyone else on the horizon.

  17. Meh. Robbie was a maverick, that's why we loved him. He had some bad injuries and was getting back to his best before he was shipped out, from which he never really recovered. Could you imagine Owen ever being that gutted about leaving the club who made him what he is?

I think he's ideal for cover. Another striker would't go amiss mind.
  19. Maybe Mccarthy didn't want to come and sit on the bench and wait for his chance behind 3 top class midfielders and various other youngsters vying for their chance? With our recent record of developing young players, who can blame him. He sounds like he's got his head screwed on.
  20. It's quite clever. Carra is one that certainly improved his defensive focus by playing in an unfamiliar position. Johnson is naturally attack minded anyway, so it won't take anything away from that side of his game.

  22. Fowler is a different character to Owen and things like loyalty and integrity are very important to him. While Owen is a little rat and has only ever cared about himself and his career.
  23. So what's the alternative? The only kind of people who would be able to buy us and spend their own money are the likes of Abramovich or the City lot, and there isn't many of them to go around. Whoever takes over will be using the leverage model.

That sounds like if we get a decent offer he's gone. Strange that we haven't.
  25. But despite Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that Benitez was weighing up an €18 million bid for the middle-man, Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia has insisted the player is going no where. "Alberto to Liverpool? Lets not talk about stupid things,” he told Romagiallorossa.com. "There is no point in talking about this as there is nothing true or concrete. "The player has only recently renewed his deal and he is working hard to recover from injury and give his best to Roma."
