That 87/88 season is the only season so far when I never thought that we'd lose a single game. We were that good. Didn't matter who we were playing (Mancs, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs) home or away, I was so confident that we'd win. Good times.
I agree. As someone pointed out in another thread, after the next set of international games we are away to Everton (early kick-off). Unless they all pick up an injury between now and then, I bet Rafa doesn't leave out Gerrard, Torres, Babel and Kuyt for that game, and in a way that's what's disappointed me about Rafa's team selection for Portsmouth, to me it was a lack of recognition of the fact that Portsmouth away is a difficult game for any team in the Premier League, and you need to play your top players in those games.
In recent times, we've done pretty well at Fratton Park. We've played them 4 times (3 League games, 1 FA Cup game) there since Rafa took charge and won 3 and lost 1, and the game we lost was sandwiched in between the CL semi final games against Chelsea (when Rafa rested a few players) last season.
I'm actually quite pleased that we bug that t*** Mourinho so much that he continues to have these snide digs at us. Better watch your back, Jose, because you know that Abramovich is.
