Unproductive? I wouldn't say that. Apart from his last two games he has looked more than capable when he has played. If we are saying unproductive because of injury it would be interesting to see everyone's opinion on Agger. He, too, has been injured more than fit since he got here. Just four starts in his first season and, probably about the same this season, too. There are 7 spots next season anyway. Insua will get his chance when and if he deserves it.

Terry does my head in. Seriously. It comes to something when not even saying this makes me hate him any less

If nothing else it will allow for even more rotation (gulp) and would shut up all of those commentators who say "Christ, Crouch has not even made the squad." Don't really see the point in it, to be honest. Its not like any more substitutions can be made. Just gives more options. Beneficial perhaps to those with a large sized squad but not really amazing for The Little Teams. Like Everton.

Would prefer to shift Riise in the summer and buy someone else in, having Fabio as back up. Better footballer. Have watched Insua. Do not understand why people believe him to be the saviour of left back, to be honest. If we are going on how he is in the reserves, Leto is amazing in the reserves. What happens every time he makes the step up? Same with Insua. The times he HAS been promoted to the first team he has played like a stunned rabbit.

Kewell was given how many seasons to prove his fitness? Aurelio is not on a high wage. We can at least give him another 12 months to see if he can keep himself fit. He has not even had 12 months to get over what would have ended his career not so many years ago. When he plays, he does well. Recently, not so much, but has anyone on this team played well recently? I would give him until this time next year. If he is still f***ed, get rid of him then. To be honest, I do ask myself how he is still playing professional football after the record he has had, but Rafa implied this when we signed him. "When fit, he is a great player." What harm is there in keeping him as a squad player for the time being?

Out for a week with a pullled thigh muscle. My brother met him about a month ago. He said that when he did his Achilles in he was told that it would take him at least 12 months to recover completely. When my brother asked him about all these annoying little injuries he kind of smiled and said, yes, they are really frustrating, but I am just glad I can still play. Said he wasn't really sure, at first. He was told that such things were very normal, little tweaks and strains as the body overcompensates for the previous injury. Now, correct me if I am wrong, but did the lad not come back from a career threatening injury in less than six months? Was that not less than a year ago? So, he made an early comeback, pushed himself by his own admission (he said that he rushed back, played too many games in a row and f***ed himself up again), and now, less than 12 months later, he is still suffering some minor injuries, most of which are calf strains and therefore related to his achilles injury. My brother asked if the achilles still felt painful and he said "Sometimes." Was this not to be expected? Anyway, apparently he is a top bloke, really shy, signed about ten pieces a paper for my nephews mates at school and was happy to talk. A top bloke who had a career threatening injury less than a year ago who at least f***ing tries, which is more than can be said for Riise. If this can be his last injury (a big if) and he can get a sustained run, he will gain confidence. He says he lacks that at the minute because he is not getting extended runs, and if he can get his fitness and his confidence back then he can start putting it all behind him. My brother said he smiled like a child when asked how he enjoys playing for us. I actually just feel sorry for the poor lad.

Thought he did fantastically well. Looked fit, and sharp. He did not lumber around the pitch. He did not try to knock those in the tenth row out with left footed shots. Christ, even Andy Gray was jizzing over him.

Looked like s***., pale and stuff. Clearly not fully recovered from flu. Am a little under the weather myself right now and I would not fancy running around for 90 minutes either. If he was sick enough to miss a game on Wednesday then am pretty sure he would not be 100 percent by Sunday. We did not concede and so one cannot say he did that bad a job. Looked uncomfortable at first. A couple of times he was caught out of position but since that is not actually his position then that can be somewhat forgiven. Had a dodgy opening but settled down after a few words of wisdom from Carra. Though he was undoubtedly a weak link in terms that he was makeshift in Central defence was he any more of a weak link than Torres or Gerrard? The problem was not our defence yesterday. If it had been we would not have kept a clean sheet. Give the lad a break. He has been unwell. He did the best he could do, which was not shockingly badly at all.

I heard that the only thing causing him problems has been the actual football boots, that he has been training fine, kicking, running, all wearing trainers, but that he felt a bit of discomfort when he put the boot on. Apparently he will not be fit for Marseille but its going to be a couple of games out, not a few weeks out. They are just seeing how training goes! That was about three, four days ago. Pretty sure it was Rafa himself that said it. “But I don’t think he’ll be out for weeks. He can run and can kick the ball, but with the boots he felt something. He is training and doing more or less everything in terms of physical.”

It is not the dead set truth so perhaps there IS denying it. Suggestive to us, yes, as people who are very much of the mindset that this paper wants to vilify us. But, we are predisposed to think and believe that. With good reason, perhaps, but does this just cloud our realities a little at times? Could it just be that we are looking for something that isnt there? And the quote I used was not directly relating to any person. I am not saying anybody in particular is paranoid, just that perhaps we might all be seen as being so. Is that not being ever so slightly hypocritical in that we are accusing an article of being suggestive towards ourselves with no proof? After all, is that not why we hate the S*n so much? All I was saying is that from the outside that might, just, make us look paranoid and a little tasteless, jumping to that conclusion when this issue relates to a kid who died in tragic circumstances. We dont want to look paranoid. It makes us more easy to brush aside and, to be honest sometimes, just sometimes, we might be guilty of that paranoia. The world does NOT revolve around us and our fight for justice and it is arrogant of us to believe that it does. And that? Is my opinion. Dropped.
-
I am not getting involved in an argument with you over a murdered kid. That's the only truth, here. The rest is all speculation. I said I was questioning the validity of the picture and whether or not it was the killer. Nothing to do with what he was wearing, the picture itself. It might be real, it might not. Where is the paranoia in that? How am I paranoid? Must we look into EVERYTHING with a fine tooth comb and draw the conclusion that, based on a photograph, this newspaper is one again out to get us? The world does not revolve around us. This child has his own tragedy. Why look for backhanded insults and vilifications when the real issue is that a child is dead? Don't be so defensive.

People are so afraid of giving over this information, though, that I wonder why they would go and hand over a photograph to the press. Unless this was a family member with an album full of pictures (and I doubt a family member would go running to the press) then it is very likely that this was the only picture available to 'sell' because, lets be honest, whoever handed this over did it for the money. It was very likely a fellow teenager, a teenager who knows nothing of this boycott of the S*n, perhaps. Not everyone in the city is aware of it because not everyone is old enough to be privy to the information that we, as Liverpool supporters, have. I guess my point was, there are often explanations that do not revolve around our S*n boycott. This is an entirely separate tragedy.

He is often in the Living Room with his daughters "doing lunch." I often see him coming out with his long, black Matrix coat on looking very dapper indeed. I would go so far as to say he looks flash, on occasion, but his daughters often look embarrassed to be seen with him. Whether it's his dress sense, his charisma, his obvious affection for the countless forty somethings who approach him for a quick chat or whether it's just their age, I don't know. It's nice to see him Mingling with the Normal Folk on a weekday afternoon, though. I saw Phil Thompson near Castle Street today. Many a passing Evertonian was singing "There goes Pinocchio" after his good self. Must've made their day.

Kewell is currently in his six bedroomed mansion impregnating his soap star wife. Sorry, I'm behind the times. That was last week. I read somewhere that he is still a week away from first team fitness as of yesterday so if that is anything to go on he should be fit by around March.
-
What if that was the only picture they could get of him? Immediately jumping to that conclusion based on a picture might, just, scream paranoia. The only pictures that have been shown of Rhys Jones, for the most part, have been of him wearing an Everton kit. It seems that the poor kid never had the shirt off. But, for all we know, this "source" to the S*n might only have had one picture of the alleged killer to hand over (and on that topic, I don't believe for one second it's genuine. I live in Croxteth Park. THe words HushHush are pretty much the reality of it, sadly!) I would hate for our own grudge against The S*n to be brought to the forefront using a murdered child and, whilst it is entirely possible that this was intentional, it is equally possible that it was not. "The S*n is dragging our name through the mud again!" people might say, and some might agree. Some might see this as a tasteless act from a tasteless newspaper. Others might call it tasteless paranoia using a dead child to highlight our feelings of justified victimisation from a daily Rag. Why not let this child rest in peace and not use him and his killer as some kind of visual proof that the S*n is once again out to get us?

There was actually an issue for discussion there before it went completely off topic. We all hate the sun. Its bad. its wrong. Its awful. its website is off limits. But the fact is, if this is true and this was printed then surely it is worth SOME kind of discussion? I doubt they are playing the Liverpool/Everton angle, tbh. It has already established that the gangs are Turf related and not football related. It has also been established that Rhys was an innocent victim, so who he supported would be irrelevant unless the gang wars WERE football related. Clutching at straws, I think. Thats my little discussion on the matter, anyway.

Clearly came through the game if no injury is being reported. Thankful for that.

I love him. Unfazed, composed and, at times, quietly cocky. He has this ability to smile in the face of a pissed off opponent and I love that.

Was looking at Worst Case Scenario. Start of September would be good. All depends on if we actually buy a left back because I just don't trust Riise to play every game. Then again, Arbeloa can play left back if needs be.
