  1. Accrington Stanley.
  2. I reckon, he's seen the blossoming love grow between stevie and nando, and feeling spurned, has turned his back on his beloved captain, and is prepared to set sail for a new beginning in another continent.

  5. Ruthlessly nicked from RAWK Today, 05:12 PM m0e √ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Peeps, Ian Ayre is on his way to Madrid to finalise the Alonso transfer. Xabi will not travel with the squad to Asia. The fee is not yet clear but it should be upwards of 25 million quid. The original decision was to hold out for 30, but time is a vital factor in re-shaping the first team, and Rafa felt he needed to act quickly. The complete funds will be given to Rafa to re-invest, on top of what he already has. Xabi has made it clear that he will no longer play for Liverpool (or Benitez I guess), and with that in mind, there was no alternative. He wanted to leave. Whether it's because of what happened last season is unclear, but it's a move back to his home country, it's Real's new galactico era and so it must have been really tempting for him. One of my favourite players, and the memories of watching him controlling games at Anfield will stay with me forever. On a positive note, negotiations have begun on the Chief's new contract. He should sign a new three year deal which sees him double his wages.
  6. Depends on how aggressive the bank becomes, I s'pose.

  12. so, when Rafa does a team talk, he leaves Shabby out of it?
  13. Alonso's a model pro, he'd just get on with it. In fact he's already said he's more than happy to stay here. This is and has been nothing more than Madrid going about their usually business in public approach in trying to unsettle Shabby. Unfortunately for them, we have Rafa now in control.
  14. which was the game where momo flicked the ball up on the edge of the area and headed it, rather than relying on his passing skills? remember it was at home, but can't remember for the life of me, whom against.
  15. More financial fears for Liverpool FC co-owner Tom Hicks Jul 3 2009 by David Prentice, Liverpool Echo LIVERPOOL co-owner Tom Hicks could be forced out of one of his American sports teams, as reports in the USA claimed his financial position is becoming increasingly acute. Hicks is owner of the Texas Rangers baseball team, but it has been claimed that Major League Baseball, the sports governing body for the USA's national sport, has been forced to step in and loan Hicks millions of dollars in the last week to pay his players. “He won’t be running the team much longer,” a source said. “Major League Baseball is helping him through this until someone else can be put in place to run the club.” The latest news comes on top of reports that the Hicks Sports Group defaulted on an interest-only payment on a $525m loan to his US-based sports operations. The report is unlikely to affect the refinancing of Hicks and George Gillett's LFC loan with Wachovia and the Royal Bank of Scotland. But it highlights the increasingly precarious financial position Hicks finds himself in. Javier Mascherano, meanwhile, has tipped compatriot Emiliano Insua to have a major impact during the new 2009/10 season. The 20-year-old made 13 appearances at left-back last season, and Mascherano thinks Insua will give his more experienced counterparts Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena even more of a challenge next season. “He's been doing well,” said Mascherano. “Obviously he is a young player so can still improve and get better. “It isn't easy to be playing for the Liverpool first team at just 20-years-old. I'm really happy for him. “Emiliano didn't play first-team football in Argentina, so to come here at such a young age and make the breakthrough is a great achievement. “It would have been easier for him had he played first-team football in Argentina. Everything was new to Insua when he came here. But after just two years he is playing really well whenever he gets into the first team.” The Reds have announced two new additions to their backroom team at Melwood. Eduardo Parra Garcia will join the technical staff as Fitness Coach with specific emphasis on rehabilitation work after deciding to leave his position with Celta Vigo to take up the offer of a new challenge at Anfield. “It's a dream come true for me to come and work with Rafa Benitez and the backroom staff at Liverpool FC,” said the coach. Joining Eduardo as a new face at the club for the coming campaign will be Ivan Ortega, who will take up a position within the medical team as a Sports Therapist. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-f...00252-24065729/
