We have other problems and areas we can improve no doubt, I agree. But IMO we would be top four if we had RVP over Carroll, for example.

    Are we? Oh goody!

Naive? Oh come on, you might disagree with an opinion but don't belittle members or other opinions by patronising comments like that. You disagree, fair enough debate why, don't use snide comments like that to try and justify your point. What I have said is perfectly valid.

The last 20 minutes, yes. The first 70 minutes we could have been miles clear.

I have seen Suarez read the flick ons by Carroll, but maybe he does need to do it more. I find it really hard to question Suarez. He got 17 goals this season, that is despite his ban and all the times he hit the woodwork. Fair enough he missed some chances, but he creates a lot of his chances with his exceptional movement, skill and quick thinking. I think he'd be even better if we surrounded him with players who he could play one / two's with and read his runs etc. Like Meireles, Maxi and Kuyt did the season before. But this seaosn he has mainly had to work with Henderson on the right, Downing on the left and Carroll... players who have not brought the best out of Suarez. If Suarez was alongside someone like Aguero, Rooney or Tevez they'd carve teams open for fun. But he has Carroll and I don't think it brings the best out of him personally. For me Carroll should be a plan b next season until he proves he is good enough and scores enough to be a plan a.

I'd say Bellamy is the experience wide player, given he usually plays wide. He's hardly ever played upfront, Man City away being a rare occasion and he was brilliant.

    I agree Suarez needs help.

I mean we need an Eto'o or Forlan, if we want to go along the experienced striker root. Obviously we need a younger better player.

Well it is not including the game we did win at home or the games we won away. I could name good away performances where we deserved to win as well, such as QPR away where agin poor finishing cost us.

I must have watched a different team to you at home this season. Away from home we haven't as much, but then again no side does. Yes we can improve in CM, but it is not the biggest problem IMO. I'd say attacking wide players and lack of a goalscorer is more of an issue.

You saying we didn't control games at home to Norwich, Wolves, Blackburn, Arsenal, Villa, West Brom. All games we dropped points at home and dominated possession. Even games against City and United at home we should have won and were the better side.

and we have the third best defensive record in the league.
  14. That is the fault of Comolli the price, not Dalglish.

What have they been then? Because I have seen us hit the woodwork over 30 times, miss penalties and even missed loads of other chances that haven't hit the target. We have had the worst conversion of chances in the league. Goals win games!
  16. That quote from Dalglish saying "He is better than I thought" really surprised me.

Not clinical enough. He was always a number 2 striker for Klinsmann, Owen, Fowler... We need a leading striker, not a supporting one IMO. Someone like Forlan or Eto'o.

It is only some of our chances in the first half of the season, not all of them. Some awful misses, though. Some brilliant goal keeping as well to be fair.

If we were going for someone like Holt, Fletcher would be better IMO. Given Wolves got relegated and Norwich didn't and they are similar players. Rather we got neither personally, think they have found their level.

Some of the chances we missed in the first half of the season. Miss chances I remember when people used to have a go at Owen, saying he only scored goals and offered not much else! I wish we had a striker now who only scored goals like Owen did. Finsihing is an art.

I haven't said we only need a finisher. I agree we need a top class partner for Lucas. But IMO it is our main problem - yes.

    Kenny

Top four, not top two. I think it is rubbish that RVP has got better service than Carroll and Suarez this season. That match vs Anfield at Arsenal at home is a prime example.

    Kenny

That wasn't the best chance, also yesterday wasn't a microcosm of our season. Swansea are tough at home, given they keep the ball so well. But at Anfield this season when we have had lots of possession in games and created lots of chances and our record has been poor as finisher would have really helped. For scoring penalties alone.

    Kenny

Player that only can finsiher are. But they are plenty of players that can finish as well as offer other skills. If we have RVP this season we'd be top four. At Anfield he got two chances, two goals. We had numerous more chances and only scored one. Cisse is another example as is Jelovic at Everton. They get a chance, they often take it. I agree we can improve some of our midfield, although I do like Henderson and Shelvey. But we also need a finisher IMO.

The ideal sitiuation would be to buy someone like Eto'o (not him as he is old and on massive wages). A player who can play as a leading striker or wide, as he did at Inter or Barca. So we have more options: -----Eto'o*--------Carroll---------Suarez------ or --------------Suarez------*Eto'o----------------- or --------------Carroll-------*Eto'o---------------- * Not Eto'o! Not sure who can do this. Hulk is probably the best, but he'd cost too much.
