How was the foul on Gerrard not a penalty? If the argument was that Gerrard wouldn't have reached the ball, therefore is was not a "goalscoring chance denied" then he may have a case about not giving a red card, but surely it was a foul? (must admit I haven't watched a replay since last night).

I think Sissoko's a very good player and I think he's been a great signing. He seems to have made a tremendous difference to our competitiveness this season. Yesterday was interesting, though. I wondered if once he picked up the yellow card, he semi withdrew from the fray - not wanting to risk getting the red and get suspended. He and/or Rafael Benitez may consider that an FA Cup tie in Luton isn't worth that - and I'd tend to agree with them.

Mourninho probably hopes we'll respond to 'mind games' like this by changing our style of play to something more 'attacking' or TV friendly - thus making us less consistent and less of a threat to them.
