  1. True, but the point could have been driven without the use of player names, imo.
  2. Compare our first 11 to theirs at the start of these 3 seasons in terms of value. Then compare the amounts spent by the two clubs, these stats are loosely used all over the place by people just to prove a point. Heres a stat for you, United spent over 50m on 3 midfielders 'after' winning the Title last season, Anderson, Nani and Hargreaves.
  3. Give the current formation, Ramsey would have been 2nd to Gerrard in the link up position for me, but thats besides the point, to reach the top and stay there, we need to have a good present team and a good future side, and if your supposed to be finishing above the big boys, we should be able to bid for players who we think will add to our team either now or in years to come. Unless that article in the echo was just to save face knowing before hand that the lad will only wish to go to Man Utd, we shall never know now...
  4. If Rooney cost 28m, Torres would have gone for close to 40m atleast...
  5. Its pretty clear to everyone he will only be considered a good signing if he is swapped for a current member of the squad or that he comes for the same amount as an out going Pennant or Riise. And if he wants to play for us, we can get him to come here for cheap, he is not a local geordie, i expect him to put in a request if they try to over price the lad out of a move, he isnt by any means our number 1 option though, might even be a case of making contact with number 2-3-4 on the list just to make sure...
  6. at 7-10m he seems overpriced to me.
  7. So its Milner then
  8. Why doesnt Kenwright just sell the club to Tesco, theyre minted arent they ? We should arrange for a mosiac at the start of next season, N T G H P M = Never Trust Gillett Hicks Parry Moores. Money talks, nothing else matters, utter g*******.
  9. Time for Reality Check. United and Chelsea are now being joined by Spurs and City in spending amounts which can dwarf what we spend on transfers. Barcelona, Madrid, Inter, Juve, AC, Bayern to say the least.
  10. http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/footba...r.html?ITO=1490 We're so skint.
  11. Nothing, i wasnt refuting your idea, was just providing a point of view As Rafa proved with Plessis and Insua, he is prepared to give them a chance provided he feels theyre ready to take it, i reckon we'll see if Nemeth is when the first Carling Cup game comes by, unless he is loaned out.

    Benayoun

I think Yossi is just a squad player for us, so if he can do the business when he's playing, good enough for me. with attacking full backs creating space for our midfield, his close control can prove to be good for our attack.. consistency is his main problem as highlighted earlier....
  13. I have my doubts about Nemeth being physically ready to cope up with the league for a prolonged period of time at the moment, the way the things are at reserve team level, its hardly the parameter to judge players tbh. the 7 sub rule should do us good then, and some cup appearances should do good for him.
  14. Heskey was gone, Chelseagate was happening and they said, when Steven came in for the new contract, he just said he wanted the number 8.

    Benayoun

Nah, about 10, remember that missed half chance
  16. is he?
  17. We all know whose to blame for that.
  18. Nickname mate
  19. Reports seem good, will give him a season atleast to prove his worth... What are we going to call him then? Dossi?
  20. Atleast this present situation gives us a chance to see if Gillet's actions back his mouth, if he agrees with Hicks and Parry goes, we all know all that I wont sell to Hicks was bulls*** and we're f***ed....
  21. I think thats true, Theres this lad from Xabi's neighborhood in spain on TCAA ( another LFC Forum ), he's mentioned that Xabi and his partner are really happy at Liverpool and he doesnt wish to leave, its Benitez's call. heres a link for you.... Xabi...
  22. He will leave for free when his deal expires then lol....
  23. Well, whether he can make the transition from la liga to the physically tougher Premier league is one of the major doubts, can end up becoming another morientes and we cant afford that to happen. On a positive note, if he does settle and is allowed to play in his best position, which is behind Torres, with Gerrard moving wide right in the 3 behind torres ( he did say he will play ANYWHERE for England, its time he does that for us too ) it would give us a much better and more fluid 4-2-3-1..
