  1. Crossed the ball in for Sinama to score against Olympiakos too.
  2. We should start reducing our bids now, or just keep Alonso.
  3. Free's up 60k a week!
  4. I think it was mentioned during the time when the refinancing was announced, that 60m was being kept aside for work on the stadium, which needs to start by Sept.
  5. Just imagine : The Thomas Hicks and George Gillett Pepsi Co Anfield Soccer Stadium - Home of the Liverpool Reds Soccer Team.
  6. Geoff Boycott's Mum will score at the Euro 2008 before Torres decides to leave us for that s*** hole.
  7. Maybe its his convincing powers... His english was ace even before he came to Liverpool.
  8. Arsenal would have upped their offer....
  9. Comparing the entire squads would be more like it.... but then that undermines what you were trying so hard to prove, hence you chose an example of your choice....
  10. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/4...l-cost-Kop-20m/ MARTIN O’NEILL will not allow Gareth Barry to leave Aston Villa – unless Liverpool come close to reaching the £20m barrier for the England international. Aston Villa boss O’Neill confirmed last night that Barry has made it clear he wants to leave Villa Park following discussions between the pair yesterday. And he is now resigned to losing the influential midfielder before the start of next season’s Premier League campaign. But the Ulsterman is determined to play hardball with Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez before granting the 27-year-old his wish to move to Anfield. After returning from a stint as a BBC analyst at the Euro 2008 championships to speak in person with Barry yesterday, Villa confirmed in a statement that the midfielder had made it clear to O’Neill that he wants to end his 10-year stay with the club he joined as a kid. The statement said: “Gareth Barry has stated in discussions with our manager that he would like to leave Aston Villa to join Liverpool, but Liverpool’s bid for the player has been rejected and Liverpool have been informed.” Liverpool’s latest offer of £12m has been rejected out of hand, following Benitez’s opening gambit of £10m plus Steve Finnan, Jermaine Pennant and John Arne Riise. Villa are demanding a straight cash deal. ---- Its official, Aston Villa and Martin O'Neill are officially deluded. Let the bugger put in a transfer req now, I hope we put in the same bid as last time and let Barry decide if he so badly wants to play CL footie or no.
  11. Maybe thats because we are run like a mid table club. If they think they are 2-3 players away from breaking into the top 4, M'ON wont be there for long then, one more season outside their ambitions of a top 4 and he might get the sack then....
  12. Only way he comes is if he wants to play with Torres week in week out, and the Euros should do us no harm at that... He tells Valencia that he only wants to play for us and we're in business....
  13. See, i got the hatrick, now give me that scouse pie you keep talking about ...
  14. Not saying you were, the reason i probably ended up quoting your post was because it was the last i read regarding that situation....
  15. Comparing our figures with United is stupid, theyre spending as much as us on a squad which has won the title... surely to compete with them on a level field we have to spend more, to get closer to their level... I find it absurd that people use this as a criticism of the manager, saying he has spend as much or more than United, when United have been improving on an already excellent squad and we have managed to get an excellent spine under Benitez.
  16. True, everyone agrees that maybe the use of names in the initial post was a wrong move.. But I think we need to look at the bigger picture, we have let the SOS know what we felt about their using the names of players to put a point across, i reckon they'll be more careful from now on, or so i hope But with regards to the motives behind the move, we all agree to the fact that we seem to have jumped from the firepan into the fire and that ousting the yanks should be the number 1 priority, whilst questioning the SOS will happen in an open forum, and so it should, this topic has been totally taken over by the degen and ramsey issues, which is kind of a dampner considering today might end up being a very important day in the fight against the yanks....
  17. Not at the start of the season, but you never know..... maybe near the end of next season, he will be our number 1 RB with Arbeloa at LB and Dossena ahead of him....
  18. Of course it isnt, but it can be interpreted as that...
  19. Maybe that was down to Rafa wanting a smokescreen for Torres. I feel Rafa knows how to use the media for his advantages, CB was the first one to break the Yanks v Rafa story in Nov and it did lead to protests which effectively saved Benitez, so you never know mate.
  20. Maybe Rafa told him to keep it quiet
  21. I agree, ive heard that fans in london pay upto 47-50 bucks a ticket a game at places like the Craven Cottage? With the new tv money and globalization making global marketing possible for them, a freeze on prices of tickets should be on the highest agendas on the FSF.. but i feel nothing will be accomplished without the support of the FA, Clubs need to be told to draw the line, who will do it though? The FA seem more intent on finding ways to milk more money....
  22. ShanksLegend on Rawk.
  23. True, what can the fans do about that though? A boycott seems to fail because for every one person who decides not to buy, another one comes in and does, in the current climate, it seems inevitable that a section of society is getting priced out from watching football.
  24. Right folks, we all agree that the statement is not properly drafted regarding the players being mentioned in it. But, can we concentrate now on the owners, its clear they need going, and with schemes like the new fancard one, theyre milking more and more cash out of the club for loan repayments by the looks of it, it would imo be better served for everyone to look at those issues..... Or, we could continue this exercise of criticizing them to the hilt?
