  1. What agenda? All Shanks has done is repeatedly say that he finds the subjects too sensitive to sing about even as a retort to Everton fans. I agree with him but I can understand why those that do chose to retort are coming from and as long as they can rationalise why they do so I don't have a problem with it. All Shanks has done is hold up a mirror and make people think about what they are doing. No agenda as far as I can see - just well thought out stuff to chew on.
  2. No-one knows. It's a revelation from Oliver Kay.
  3. At the very least it begs an official statement from Manchester Utd.... the hand grenade's in your court now, boys.
  4. yes, that's the interesting sentence.... we'll have to wait and see what happens next and whether he's got the proof....

  6. Fair enough... I've talked with you about this before.. if sufficiently riled I could do "munich" possibly a cappella style with Anny... I couldn't do "shipman" under any circumstances.... Shipman equates to Hillsborough in my mind....
  7. some people find it self-defeating rather than disgusting. Anyway, Sutty, what's so sacrosanct about Munich (compared to Shipman, for example)? This is one I don't get. Munich happened before I was born and before a lot of current supporters (United too) were born. The idea that supporters refrain from singing it or that United fans go ballistic at it seems bizarre - no-one knew Tommy Taylor from a hole in the ground* so where exactly is the "offence" (other than a disrespecting of the dead from 50 years ago). *There's a gag here, but I have some self-control.
  8. partick thistle need to work hard at their rhyming
  9. I've heard Everton fans singing "you killed your own fans" before. The implication being that we murdered our own. If I can't be certain what they are referring to when they sing murderers then I won't be throwing it back at them. Each to their own though.
  10. No I don't think it is. So I can't understand how it can be taken back and thrown at them. Since when did Hillsborough become post-modernly ironic?
  11. Are you sure that the "murderers" is solely about Heysel?
  12. No mention of the Harold Shipman songs that get an airing when we go to Manc-land then? I'd rather sing Munich than join in with a Shipman song...
  13. Joe Kinnear.... bloody hell, if that doesn't tell O'Leary he's finished in club management what else would??
  14. Why should they have? Why should anyone under the age of 30 have the remotest clue who Jimmy Sirrel was? Hardly a short-coming.
  15. The major point is to repeat the United trick against Arsenal and Chelsea.

    CASH TURNSTILES

    haha!
  18. Sad day. Old school and much respect. I went to see Notts County vs Boston at the end of 2007 and sat in the Jimmy Sirrel stand. Outside the ground the sign above the turnstiles was resplendent with a photo of the snaggletoothed old boy. RIP
