Look at how much deeper Henderson plays compared to Can in that defensive midfielder role. Henderson is between Matip and Klavan slowing play down and not in a position to play out to the wing backs, while Can was just a few yards further forward and had plenty of opportunities to get the ball wide when he received a pass from our centre backs.

I don't know what Sturridge is doing in training, but he has done absolutely nothing on the pitch this season to merit more minutes.

Sturridge isn't really helping with his lack of movement. Henderson can't shoot, can he?

It's strange that players like Chamberlain and Solanke can come in and play well and still be nowhere near a start when there's an argument for shaking things up a bit.

I'm not questioning the decision. Moreno played well, and has been looking better lately. I'm just surprised Robertson seems to be miles away from getting a chance in the team. He cost us £8m and we're out of the league cup so this was probably his best chance of getting a start this side of Christmas.
