  1. You said things were looking good earlier. Time for another snippet.
  2. Hopefully something's going on, and the Echo, who are obviously being briefed of events, have been instructed to keep quiet in the meantime. (Am I being too optimistic?)
  3. It's been posted about thousand times in different forums and is supposedly as b****x as it sounds
  4. I thought it was Shed 7?
  5. The Observer article is quite detailed, the Times one offers absolutely no new info. Quite disturbing to think that our club's fate could depend on one bank's decision to back G&H. Refinance the loan and the possibility of long-term stagnation, refuse to refinance the loan and perhaps we prosper under DIC.
  6. How can picking our most consistent player of late be a problem? He's doing his job (and more), but most of the others aren't doing theirs.
  7. Disagree. On the whole he looked good when is possession of the ball, but I don't think he seemed interested for large parts of the game. A shame, because a fully focused Gerrard can be devastating. Also didn't like the way he sat in front of the defence and started moves as the deepest midfielder. No idea whose idea that was.
  8. Riise and Voronin need to be recycled for man flesh
  9. Sign more nice boys
  10. What was that about a €40m player?
  11. He's looked quality most times I've seen him. Really like the look of Diaby, though.
  12. "Ten out of ten for the goal celebration" "Loves to play with a smile on his face"
  13. For what it's worth, Balague saying on Revista that Rafa most certainly wasn't that source regarding the recent "dead man walking" stories. He confirmed that Rafa defo wants to stay and confidentally predicted that Schuster will still be at Real next season. edit: story of my life
  14. You can virtually see all of Moyes's eyeballs. Freaky as f*ck.
  15. Well Rafa is a lucky manager don't forget...
  16. It's so sad that this dire run of performances has coincided (probably not coincidentally) with all this unrest behind the scenes. We should be continuing to back Rafa after the fans' efforts with the demonstrations, banners, petitions, chants, etc, yet a few poor results later, many of us are turning on him. Things could and should be a lot better on the pitch, but it's not really surprising given what's been happening off it. Even if some fans aren't sure if Rafa has it in him to win us the league, he is one of us, has done amazing things while in charge, and should be supported amid all the pressure he is facing from G&H and the media...
  17. Nothing wrong with the teams put to face Wigan and Luton, in my opinion. I think most of the posters would have, in the same situation, rested some of our stars today, and I've lost count of the dream formations I've read on here including Alonso, Mascherano and Gerrard in midfield, with Torres on his own up front...
  18. Tyler and particularly Gray were at their absolute worst today. A really snide double act they were. I could've punched the screen when Gray said how Benitez has had "luck in abundance". Sky, along with half of Fleet Street, are desperate to see Rafa go - and they're not even pretending otherwise.
  19. Yah, but the best of an awful bunch.
  20. But most people don't revel in, to be fair.
  21. Wow - that performance was almost beyond belief. That's some effort getting outplayed by a team languishing near the bottom of League One. There has be more going on at the club than meets the eye. My guess is that the players know Rafa's on his way out. That theory could at least go some way to explaining what went on it that second half. Even one or two players come out of our worst displays with a modicum of credit - today every outfield starter was poor. Carra and Hyypia were the only ones not to have nightmares, really. It really feels like the situation at our club is coming to a head.
  22. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...in_page_id=1779 Rafael Benitez fears he will be sacked by Liverpool's owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, this summer even though Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are among clubs waiting to offer him a new challenge. Liverpool's manager, who has two and a half years of his £3million-a-year contract to run, goes into this afternoon's FA Cup third-round tie at Luton publicly insisting that he will be allowed to remain in charge beyond the end of this season. Yet in private, according to sources close to the Spaniard, he feels that the reality will almost certainly be different. Benitez has begun the New Year at the wrong end of a 12-point gap between Liverpool and Premier League leaders Arsenal, and his prospects of ending Anfield's 18-year wait for the title appear as distant as ever. Just as crucially, Benitez has not only lost the political war with Hicks and Gillett over the funding of new players but also their faith in his ability to deliver success while constrained by a budget tightened by the Americans' efforts to raise affordable £500million backing for a new stadium. Reports suggest that former Germany manager and Tottenham favourite Jurgen Klinsmann and Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill have been targeted to replace Benitez. As the smoke cleared before Christmas following the Spaniard's fall-out with Liverpool's owners over his transfer budget, Benitez suggested that he would be open to a new deal. But it is understood that the possibility of such a move has not been brought up by Hicks and Gillett. Yet Benitez's public stance remains optimistic. He said: "My position is very clear. I am happy here. My commitment to the club and the fans is 100 per cent and we are working with the new owners trying to prepare the team for this season and next."
  23. His name could be John Motson
