Getting his wages off the books right now would save close to £2m by the end of June. A £3m fee on top of that would probably be a decent outcome. Real won’t want to pay anything though.

I admire your optimism, but FSG are holding the purse strings here, not Todd Boehly. As ever, I’m preparing to be underwhelmed by our transfer activity. As the Romans would say, "Para te frustrari”. We’ve re-signed Virgil and Mo at huge cost and the club will be briefing by August that those are the most important signings we could have made. Depends who’s sold obviously, but a left back and a centre forward plus one other "opportunistic purchase” such as Huijsen is my guess.
