Who can we backfill him with though? Warnock makes the same mistakes, only more frequently. Fabio is no improvement! We'll have to dip into the market to upgrade the LB slot. But who is available that would be an upgrade?

We need a lot of things A ballwinner in midfield would be a good start!

In plan B the midfielders are rushing forward. Crouch holds the ball up well and is good at feeding the runners.

It's a combination of guesswork and BS. Crouch will still be here post transfer window. He's too good of a plan B.

I've been following Carson @ Charlton and I have to say he has impressed me. Lots of good reaction saves/shot stopping. I've been suprised though that he has an eye for a pass and his distribution is excellent. He has at least two assists from the games I've watched

Those are both winnable games assuming we get a bit of luck in front of goal. We've been creating 15+ chances per game. Hurry back Momo, we need the extra 10% posession.

He was out for a couple of weeks and he wasn't involved in the world cup. So I reckon this is just a form thing. When he's out of form it usually takes a couple of months to correct. I wish we had decent back up. The number of attacks coming down the left hand side at the moment is ridiculous.

How about Zapater, we were linked with him in the summer. Anyone know much about him?

BECAUSE he's playing in the middle or because Bellamy, Xabi, Pennant and Finnan have all raised their game. Let's face it the goals aside he's been pretty average recently. We definitely not been a one man team recently.

That is pretty solid, I'd have preferred Alves as he would have been awesome in the right wingback role. The real clincher is that the squad is deep enough now for us to play 442, 4231, 4411, 451 and 352 depending on what is most appropriate for the oppostion that we are playing. If we get our mentaility right and avoid injuries we will be there or there abouts come season end. He probably will, but hopefully we will have stolen a march on them before he works it our. I have serious doubts that Mourinho is sophisticated enough to work with anything other than the current formation. If he goes 442 then it will require significant game intelligence to play against 4231 etc. I don't think his players are smart enough to be able to do that. Other factor to consider is that we have much personell to counter his usual formation anyway. If we nail them home and away they still have a lot of work to do to get past us. Welcome aboard mate. OUr biggest weaknesses last year were finishing and converting set pieces into goals. With Bellamy, Fowler and A.N. Other we have addressed the former. With Aurelio and Gonzalez we have addressed the latter. Happy days

Ya beauty. Chelseas strength has always been their midfield 3, if they are going to do away with that, they are definitiely there for the taking. A 442 w/Ballack and Lampard will struggle against Bolton let alone a 3 with Xabi, Momo and Stevie G. And as we've seen with Enlgand, he isn't half the player when he hasn't got Makele protecting him. If they do drop Makele they are there for the taking.

It certainly made me feel good. Everyone always says never write off Manure. But sooner or later the psychology will not work and they will perform to the level that the quality of the squad deserves. This could very well be the year that they implode.

A lot of people will claim that Eboue is better than Finnan as he has much more about him from an attacking perspective. It's the same reason that Chimbonda got selected for the EPL team. Parry in an interview last week said, "while we are aware of those players, suggestions we are going to make a bid, are wide of the mark" So to answer you question. Apparently not.
