  1. I faer a match boycott is the only way to hit home to these b******s, at the moment these w*****s are laughing at us, no amount protesting tonight will effect them, what will is if they are hit in the pocket. A boycott of a game is prolly a pipedream, if it was somehow to get organised I think the point would resonate across to those malignants
  2. Hicks is a c*** of the highest order
  3. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...d=1779&ct=5 Hicks Kop out - 'I won’t sell unless the price is right' By JOHN EDWARDS - More by this author » Last updated at 22:11pm on 20th January 2008 Comments Comments (1) Tom Hicks was embroiled in a £300million-plus game of brinkmanship over Liverpool's future last night after rejecting initial overtures from Dubai International Capital to buy him out. As he braced himself for an angry backlash from fans over his treatment of manager Rafa Benitez, Liverpool's co-owner dismissed claims that a deal had been done with DIC and issued a statement insisting he and George Gillett would remain in control at Anfield 'for many years to come'. Despite Hicks' defiant stance, it is understood he is prepared to relinquish control should the Dubai group come up with a price that would suit him and Gillett. Both men will be missing from the directors' box for tonight's televised home game with Aston Villa. They have been warned to expect the first public show of animosity from fans who want them out. Hicks is unlikely to be swayed by such hostility and will base any decision on whether it makes financial sense. He was still standing firm when he denied that a family member had admitted the owners were looking to sell and instead pointed to an imminent double breakthrough as evidence that he intends to push ahead with his long-term aims. He believes a refinancing package crucial to repaying loans and funding the building of a new stadium will go through this week and that detailed plans of the ground, at nearby Stanley Park, will be unveiled in a few days. DIC officials have held preliminary talks with Hicks and Gillett and outlined their eagerness to buy out both Anfeld bosses for about £300m. Though it would appear to represent an immediate profit of around £40m each, there are other factors which have convinced Hicks, in particular, that he should hold out for more. The Americans paid around £180m and absorbed an additional £40m of debt when they took over from David Moores, but they argue that Rafa Benitez's transfer dealings have pushed their total outgoings beyond £250m. With the proposed new stadium likely to add around 20,000 extra paying customers every home game, and new television rights further boosting future income, Hicks is convinced that Liverpool's value could soar over the next few years. He is in no mood to miss out on the chance of a healthy return on his investment and will only allow another handover of power for a price that would reflect prospective future earnings. It is further evidence of his ruthless approach to business, but he could face a dilemma, given that DIC chiefs are just as renowned for driving a hard bargain and are reluctant to increase their valuation by much. With interest charges on the refinancing agreement thought to be as high as £30m a year, Hicks appears to be taking a calculated gamble that could backfire on him should DIC lose patience and walk away from a possible deal. Anfield insiders played down weekend claims that Liverpool could go the way of Leeds and find themselves having to sell their best players to stay afloat. Even so, Hicks, who needs the continuing support of Gillett for the refinancing deal to go through, appears to be playing a dangerous game in allowing a battle of wills to develop between himself and DIC. His relationship with Gillett has become increasingly strained, particularly regarding the way he went public over their recent attempt to instal Jurgen Klinsmann as successor to Benitez, but he is standing by his partner, for now at least. Responding to a claim that agreement had been reached for Liverpool to have new owners, Hicks said: "It is a complete fabrication and is absolutely and categorically untrue. I have not received any offer to purchase the club from the DIC or anyone else, much less accepted any such offer. "Nor do I have any intention of doing so. "Whoever is behind this false report, the facts are that I and my family have always been, and remain, fully committed to co-owning the club. 'No one in my family has ever indicated any intention or desire to sell our stake in the club. "We expect and intend to be co-owners of the club, and to actively and enthusiastically support the club's manager, players and fans for many years to come."
  4. Another thing to consider is that its widely accepted DIC have been briefing the media for the last few months about their interest hence all the stories stretching back as far as last November. Doesnt it strike anyone else as odd that in the space of 48 hours from TB's article in the Echo Thurs where he must of been briefed by a DIC source to the BBC reports Sat that they went from bidding for a 50% share to going for the job lot. Without being anything close to a city expert but could it be that they have had some positive feedback from gillet to think that they can kick both these yankee c**** outta here instead of just leveraging one of them out
  5. "I've not received any offer to purchase the club from DIC or anyone else, much less accepted any such offer. We all know DIC are in the process of presenting the offer some time this week "Nor do I have any intention of doing so," What his 'intentions' are is completely irrelevent till he receives a bid to good to turn down, money hungry whore that he is "Whoever is behind this false report, the facts are that I and my family have always been, and remain, fully committed to co-owning the club," One thinks thou protests too much..... "No-one in my family has ever indicated any intention or desire to sell our stake in the club. "We expect and intend to be co-owners of the club, and to actively and enthusiastically support the club's manager, players and fans for many years to come." f*** off you lying condescending fat b*****d, f*** off
  6. Anyone else notice there was a distinct singular theme to what Hicks was saying with little or no ref to what gillets intentions are. We could be witnessing the first public signs of the of the fracturing of their relationship. No way is Hicks going to come out and say we want to sell, it makes no sense for him to do that, but some of the language makes you think its open ended
  7. Also importantly they believe the end game is that this will all end in a sale to DIC
  8. That was my thought as well
  9. DIC waiting on new Liverpool bid By Phil McNulty Chief football writer Dubai International Capital - the investment arm of the Dubai Government - is ready to table a new £500m bid to buy Liverpool Football Club. BBC Sport understands DIC has drawn up plans to take control from American duo George Gillett and Tom Hicks. But the deal is subject to conditions which Gillett and Hicks are currently unwilling to meet. DIC was originally thought to be ready to make an offer for Hicks' 50% share, but now favours a total buy-out. Feature: Liverpool problems mount 606: DEBATE If DIC can't pull it off, I think we're doomed Red Sam 2008 DIC was close to buying the club in January 2007, but pulled out when Liverpool refused to agree to a deadline on the deal and moved into advanced negotiations with Hicks and Gillett. The interest has now been seriously revived, but DIC is insistent it will not pay over the odds to buy the club, and until Gillett and Hicks agree to certain terms contained within the deal, an impasse has been reached. Gillett and Hicks' reign has caused turmoil on and off the pitch at Liverpool, and DIC has always maintained a close eye on Liverpool's situation, despite the collapse of the previous deal. Gillett and Hicks are currently attempting to finalise terms on a £350m loan that would enable them to repay money borrowed for their £218.9m takeover, repay loans used to sign players, and enable them to start work on a re-scaled plan for a new stadium in Stanley Park. DIC hopes the offer would present the American duo with a get-out clause before they take out the massive loan. Hicks, in particular, is under pressure after being subjected to heavy criticism from fans following public disagreements with popular manager Rafael Benitez. He has also come under fire for his admission that talks had been held with Jurgen Klinsmann about possibly succeeding the Spaniard. Liverpool fans will turn up the heat on Gillett and Hicks with an orchestrated protest at Monday night's game against Aston Villa. Website Reclaim The Kop issued a statement claiming they were "not fit to be associated with our club" and banners criticising the Americans and calling on DIC to launch a bid were held aloft on The Kop during the FA Cup win against Luton. Liverpool supporters are also concerned at how much of the £350m loan will be shifted on to the club's books - with crippling interest payments. They will also have to fund the £300m stadium plan, with a decision expected soon after two new designs were studied by Gillett and Hicks, along with chief executive Rick Parry, in New York earlier this month. A spokeman for the Americans said on Thursday: "Any suggestion Hicks and Gillett are contemplating a sale of the club or any portion of it is categorically untrue." DIC backed away from a £150m price tag for a 15% stake in Liverpool last October, but the financial uncertainty surrounding the club has increased and there is hope a new offer will prove more tempting. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ool/7197675.stm New take on the beeb
  10. As well as venting our feeling at the yanks its also clear that we have to show some clear sign of support for DIC on Monday, the yanks should be left in doubt that they're not wanted
  11. Was listening to 5 Live after 8 and gab marcotti was give his 2 pence on the matter, apart from the fact that he was continually interrubpted by that t*** Steve Claridge he basically said Hicks despite his denials wants to sell and that Gillet is too 'leveraged' to actually put any sort of equity as part of the agreement with the banks. The annoying thing was that f*** t*** Claridge kept butting in so much Marcotti couldnt say everything he wanted to on this
  12. My heart want to belive thi story comes to fruition but the heads says its wishful thinking. The only glimmer of hope that DIC will be back in for us si that these stories in the Telegraph and Observer have been written by their City correspondants so it does lead me to believe their is atleast something to this
  13. PARRY: WE ARE COMMITTED TO NEW STADIUM Liverpoolfc.tv 15 December 2007 Following press speculation on Saturday morning concerning Liverpool's new stadium in Stanley Park, Rick Parry today said: 'We remain absolutely committed to the building of a new stadium which will improve on the original design' Chief Executive Rick Parry told liverpoolfc.tv: "We remain absolutely committed to the building of a new stadium which will improve on the original design inherited by Tom Hicks and George Gillett when they came into the club. "It will have a capacity of around 70,000, be higher quality and have a substantially increased Kop which will form the centrepiece of the new plans. "Ever since the original designs were unveiled, we have been continuously revising and refining with the intention of delivering the best possible solution to our future needs. "The situation in the credit markets has not affected our design, programme, or implementation of building our new stadium. The priority has always been to build a winning team on the pitch and everything else we do is geared towards that." http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N...071215-1353.htm
  14. He shouldnt play another game as a LM, a reserve LB he would be decent
  15. I just dont get the premise of this thread. 'same old, same old' ......................... So fecking what?!?! Hasnt this team that has gotten to 2 CL finals in 3 years and plenty of domestic finals over the last 3 years? Didnt they amass 82 points the season before last? Everyone goes on about last seasons points total but they could have easily picked another 10-12 points in April-May if they'd of been arsed. There isnt much wrong with same old same old We are never going to be Arsenal when it comes to attacking flowing football so lets no go there, what needs to happen is an incremental increase in quality when it comes to attacking which should come from 2 main sources 1- New players (though it will take atleast half a season for them to bed imo) 2- More established starting 11 through the season, changes should be kept to 1 or 2 players a game not the 3 and 4 that we've so often seen I also believe Rafa should utilise the strengths of our squad, I dont think we flow very well in a 4-4-2. our strength is in our CM - I think an axis of Masch-Alonso-Gerrard would be overwhelming in terms of defensive stability and Masch's presence would allow Gerrard to player in a more free role and Alonso to play further up the park. 4-2-3-1 is the way i'd go. Also reckon our lads could do we the sheer bloodymindedness the Chavs have, no matter how crap they are during a game they never give in, I wish our players showed some of that mental strength
  16. Its pre season
  17. July 24, 2007 Ferguson puts his foot down as Heinze affair takes new turn Sir Alex Ferguson hinted that an illegal approach may have been made for the Argentina full back’s services Oliver Kay in Macau and James Ducker in Hong Kong In the improbable surroundings of the South China Sea, hostilities between Liverpool and Manchester United are threatening to spill over as their respective preseason visits to Asia are overshadowed by accusations of an illegal approach in the Merseyside club’s bid to sign Gabriel Heinze. While the Argentina full back’s lawyers explore the possibility of legal action against United, citing a document that they feel entitles him to join any club offering €10 million [about £6.8 million] for his services, Sir Alex Ferguson hinted last night that an illegal approach may have been made. While he believes that the chief culprits are Heinze’s agents, United’s displeasure with Liverpool is clear. “Gabriel Heinze will not be joining Liverpool as far as I’m concerned,” Ferguson said after United’s 6-0 victory over Shenzen FC in Macau, 40 miles from Hong Kong, where Liverpool are contesting the Premier League Asia Cup. “We are examining some of the statements coming from his agent and when contact was first made with Liverpool. We are not happy with the agent’s conduct in the matter and we are examining that, but it will take a couple of days before we have anything more to say.” No senior player has moved between the clubs since Phil Chisnall in 1964 and though Liverpool and United have a cordial relationship at boardroom level, the saga is causing ill feeling. Liverpool believe that Ferguson is powerless to prevent Heinze moving because of the letter that authorised his representatives to find a new club, while United, who claim that the letter is “meaningless”, are unhappy that their rivals refuse to drop the matter despite having a £6.8 million bid rejected last week. Heinze, who is on holiday after playing for Argentina in the Copa America, has yet to make his intentions clear, but his agent, Roberto Rodriguez, and his brother, Sebastian, who acts as his adviser, have infuriated United with their conduct. Rodriguez, who is based in Madrid, could not be contacted last night to answer Ferguson’s claims. An Argentina-based colleague at the Soccer SA agency said: “We know nothing about what is happening with Gabriel.” David Gill, the United chief executive, said last week that he would refuse to sell any player to Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea, but Rafael Benítez, the Liverpool manager, is undeterred. “All I can say is we’ve made an offer, they rejected it and now [Heinze’s] lawyers are working,” Benítez said. “Now we must wait. He’s a player we like and he’s a very good player. That’s the reason why they don’t want him to leave for us.” Even without Heinze and numerous others – including Paul Scholes, who has flown back to Britain to undergo exploratory surgery on a knee problem that is likely to rule him out of the opening weeks of the season – United were far too strong for Shenzen yesterday. Nani, their new signing from Sporting Lisbon, scored on his first appearance in United colours, with Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney, John O’Shea, Cristiano Ronaldo and Chris Eagles also on the mark. Nevertheless, there is concern over Scholes and Owen Hargreaves, who has yet to figure in three matches on tour because of a knee injury, while Gary Neville and Louis Saha are likely to miss the start of the new season. Liverpool, who have agreed a new three-year contract with Steve Finnan, play South China in the Asia Cup today in Hong Kong, while Portsmouth take on Fulham. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle2127802.ece
  18. At this point I would of liked to say atleast they got a good run out but no one was even a***'d to do that
  19. Mido - £6M ............ Koumas - £5.4M ............ Kamara - £6M Hienze may not be the same player as pre-injury but £6M isnt a massive asking price especially with the value added of pissing off slur alex. usually with that type of injury it usually takes a full season post recovery to get back to a proper level
  20. MUNIAIN, OF 14 YEARS, DOES THE PRESEASON Caparrós takes with a prize the cadet MUCH CLASS. Iker Muniain overflows to Gurpegi in the training of yesterday in the evening in Lezama. (AGENCY) 19.07.2007 INTERESTS TO YOU? NIKA RIVER BASIN (BILBAO) Joaquin Caparrós has thrown of efectismo to raise the moral in Bilbao. Madrugones to the group, that began yesterday first of its three seven daily sessions to and average, and prize for five products of Lezama of between 14 and 19 years. To the delay of which it can happen to Ezquerro, lateral Gorka and a left one, the list of soccer players is of 35. Llama the attention the presence of the international cadet Iker Muniain, a jewel that the Athletic tied weeks ago well before the interest of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool. It plays like second forward, with great freedom of movements. Until December, when it fulfills the 15, it will not be able to act in youthful the greater one. It will not be able either to make debut in First. The Navarrese genius, that accumulates several trophies to the best player with Spain and the Athletic, did not want to speak to go away to another equipment. That yes, its agent, Txus Medina, obtained a contract that contemplates estatus certain until its debut in First. It has, in addition, two cousins in the club, the Goñi brothers. They say that with the ball in the feet he is able to imagine any thing. Its presence has eclipsado the one of another talent in the list, the Ismael forward Lopez, by whom Osasuna broke relations with the Athletic. The champion of Europe sub-17, that will play east year in the branch, is more tanning. This blowing does not come badly from fresh air, although it is a mixture of toast to the sun and wink to the inferior categories rojiblancas. After two years grazing with the hell and the bad news that Urzaiz already has been finished, to the new president it it has not had left other than to file. Was already a good reinforcement (David Lopez), and now has closed complement soccer players (Aitor Leisure, Iñaki Muñoz and David Cuéllar). The defense will come from per them to reinforce a very loose line. It arrives, will have to fight between Aduriz, Etxeberria and Llorente. For that reason it is urgent to file to Ezquerro. In which it has not changed the summer is in the physical annoyances of three men, Yeste, Ustaritz and Garmendia. The one of first is worrisome, since they do not send his annoyances of pubalgia and other consultations look for. Indeed, the German had said that the young star of the Arsenal was able to lie down to its backs an equipment like Real Madrid. Even so, much confidence in the category of Fernando Gago is had. Between the alternatives that handle most reasonable the sport direction is the one of Riquelme (between 10 and 15 million euros the Villarreal would request), but is doubts on its character. A player who returns crazy to Schuster is Xabi Alonso, but its crossing would go away over the 40 million euros, although Rafa Benítez, whom it has in that position to Sissoko and Mascherano, could be arranged to seat to negotiate. 22. Bloke on Est1892 who posted straight after the Torres signing that we'll be signing a Dutch player and a Spanish player today posted "spanish player could be interpreted as "player in spanish league." and "not at all. Spanish league, plays in white." Could be bs but so far he got the Dutch bit right atleast
  23. Hicks confirmed one more major signing, would love it to be Queresma but I would assume chances are its a defender
  24. Likely to be b******s b/c everything we've read before suggests they're looking 25M Euros, I bet he signs for Athletico anyway. Babel seems far more likely. Doubt we sign both
  25. I think that is an unfair assessment, if you watched him in the under 21's then what you would of seen is a player with great pace who linked up well strikers, made clevers runs and got good attempts on goal. He has the physical attributes to be very effective in the PL something that Simoa wouldnt )straight away)
