Hopefully he's brilliant and one of those opportunities you don't pass up when it arises. If he replaces Alisson long term then we'll all be delighted we got him in before someone else.

Can't believe we've ended up in end of the window negotiations with Palace again.

Everyone knows we need a defensive midfielder and I'd imagine pretty much everyone on here would have one in as their number one choice. The club don't seem to agree though so of course we'll discuss the wingers we are actually linked with.

Sarr is much better than all this. My concern is the amount we are spending on him, not that he wouldn't be useful.

Ben Jacobs saying Sarr is our preference but also still talking to Brighton about Minteh. We may have to do something at some point.

If we got Sarr for 35-40m, I think he would be a useful option. He isn't as bad as is being made out by some on here and would get goals I'm sure. In addition to Barcola and Minteh, and at that price, I think he'd be fine. At the 60-70m prices being discussed, it should be a no go.

I mean obviously we need a defensive midfield player and I'd take that over any of the above. Teams just run through us at will. Iraola saw Semenyo do it for his Bournemouth team on the opening game of last season. But seemingly the club disagree. I do wonder if we've agreed on Wharton for next summer.

Yep. We keep saying it but its the only scenario from the seemingly possoble options that makes any sense for Liverpool. Minteh as a right winger and Sarr to cover right wing and also back up for Isak. With Barcola on the left, it might almost seem exciting.

So swapping Gakpo for an injured player potentially. Minteh might turn out to be great but we would definitely be light for the next couple months.
