Oh I agree Torres should have played from the start. He could have killed Birmingham all on his own given enough time. It says alot about the team when you have to rely on one player to produce any chances against bottom of the league fodder.

Dont really agree with that, the majority (maybe 'majority' is too much, lets say he wouldn't be in my top eleven) of first team players have performed consistently better than him. He is pretty average ( for every good thing, he does a bad thing) and when he isn't average .. he's f*cking woeful. He had a sh*t game against Portsmouth and gets selected for a Champions League game where he really did nothing except constantly foul. I really don't get the constant Pennant hype, he's just a squad guy.

Babel was poor considering the amount of hype there has been for him. I haven't bought it myself, he's just a kid. Torres was disappointing in an attacking sense but we didn't create any opportunities for him. He fought hard alongside Kuyt. There was very little good apart from the defenders who managed mostly to keep Porto who used lots of width and stretched our defence.

True but then looking back at the two games we clearly lacked ideas on what do to create an opportunity.

No way is that guy worth the 20m + thats been thrown about. He showed he can create a little, he hasn't got much when it comes to delivering something after beating his man.

Well I was reading the Babel interview from the financial times that was posted in the general I think. Babel said Rafa goes through specifics with defensive duties and said when it comes to attacking ' (basically)do what you like'. It's shown in our last two games, we just hoof it and don't retain the control that we should regardless of who is playing... apparently we have strength in depth or something.
