You are LennonMomoChunk. Now where's my £5...

That's Chelsea and Arsenal we've drawn with at home having been leading for significant portions of the games. We probably need to be doing a little better. It's like our determination gets us an early edge but a lack of quality means we can't hang onto it. We miss too many chances so we struggle to put teams away and then our poor ball retention means they're always in with a shout. It's good that we got a draw against one of the most in form teams anywhere and a couple of players seems to be finding some form, but we're some way off being where we want to be.

Given the s**** that's been served up recently I doubt we're capable of winning the league this year, which is sad considering the expectations a few months back. The quality of the football is shocking. Something has clearly gone rotten within the team and you have to say the manager is ultimately responsible. Thing is though, during his time at the club he has achieved enough to earn some patience and everyone’s support till the end of the season, at the very least. It really is that simple. And who knows, with a little support they may even be able to turn things around. Cause at this point, a healthy dose of disappointment is understandable, but complete despair is not only ridiculous but will probably f*** things up completely.

According to Steve Hunter we're playing: ....................Kuyt Voronin Sissoko Benayoun Gerrard Mascherano

His crossing and finishing were average, not sure he was even as good as Finnan.

There seems to be a lot of shredded nerves about alright. But our pattern of play has gone down the s***ter. Why is the passing so poor? Something has gone badly wrong. I think Rafa will fix it, but what damage will have been done to our title hopes by then? After a lot of early promise and expectation, it's clear that people are getting that familiar sinking feeling with regard to the league again, so it's not surprising that a little panic is starting to kick in.

No choice really. Not getting quality cover in during the summer was careless. All that fannying about with Heinze was absurd.

Sporting Director vs Manager control when it comes to buying players.
bobbyboulders replied to a topic in Liverpool FC
If you pick the right manager you don't need a sporting director. If you can't pick the right manager you're hardly likely to be able to pick the right sporting director. I can hardly imagine any of the managers during our most successful period putting up with a sporting director. Perhaps the game has changed now, but it's still probably best to keep it simple. Get the right manager in, give him time, give him money and get out of the way. You do all these things and you achieve what manyoo and Arsenal have of late and what we look on the cusp of. -
If they'd won the European Cup he'd still be there.
-
Perhaps they wanted to get Ramos before Spurs get him. It's between him and Hiddink.

A good Manager. Mostly a Complete c**k, but at times hilarious. Hopefully the Chelsea circus will come crashing down around Roman's ears and they turn into Spurs. Could he not have waited till after they play the mancs?

Or perhaps it was a really smart move to offer a cheeky, low risk bid to get one of the best midfielders in the world on a short term basis, who surprisingly became available after his career had stalled slightly. We help MSI give their asset quality first team football, they let us have him on the cheap for a year or so. If he'd helped us to win the European cup last year and then moves on a year later at very little cost to us, would that have been a shocking error? Why would MSI agree a reasonable fee, why give us a preferential rate? When they could let us showcase this lad's mad skills then offer him around for a mad fee. I'm not saying this is what has happened, but given the lack of solid info it seems prudent to guess that he'll go to the highest bidder.

His tackling is incredible. So good in fact, that there's been a couple of occasions where he's put in such an amazing tackle that the officials have incorrectly penalised him because they can't believe that there's anyway he could possibly have won the ball cleanly. Essentially he's doing the midfield water carrying, but he does it with such skill that it's a pleasure to watch him play football. As someone already said, players of such skill are rare and should be hung onto. Sadly I don't think we will, given the probable fee and the crazy mercenaries that own him. Still, hopefully he'll get a decent run of games this year so we'll get to see plenty of someone who looks set to become the best holding midfielder in the world.

Mascherano's tackling is incredible. Pennant playing well. Some really good football. Should be 2 up.
-
He is the most limited of the regular starters. He has good fitness and kicks the ball sweetly, but the subtleties of the game are lost on him. Probably because the footballing part of his brain is deficient in some vitamin or mineral.
-
Not the bravest or brightest. An adequate footballer attached to a nice left foot.
-
That would be nice...
-
Where the f*** did you pluck that from?
-
No way. We'd have won number 6 if he'd stayed. No doubt about it.
-
The idea that Rafa doesn't know his transfer budget is ridiculous, you couldn't run any business that way. He obviously knows exactly what he has available to him but it suits the club for there to be some doubt over it, as in, if Rafa "doesn't know" then nobody else has f***in clue which makes it just a little harder to be held to ransom by anyone you are dealing with. And there'sno need to worry about signing Forlan, cause he's obviously a smokescreen for Eto'o, who's a smokescreen for Villa...
