  18. Maybe a bit late to answer this but.... We are Liverpool. If players aren't happy then they can take the step down of playing for any other club. Any other mentality is what brings us into to the group of also-rans. Players should come here willing to fight for their place. We shouldn't worry about keeping players happy.
  19. I'd actually prefer that if we are never going to challenge for the title.....
  20. And another thing is that I still worry that we will continue doing the same things in the transfer market as we've been doing for the last 10-15 years. Buy some more squad players to replace the other squad players that weren't good enough. For once I'd like us to buy players who are actually better than the ones we already have. Then let the former "1st" team player have to prove himself. If we continue to rotate the squad players as much as we rotate our line-ups we are never going to get better. So just for once, if we could use the 30-40m we spend on players on just one or two (at most three) players instead of 10 players then maybe we might take those two steps forward. Instead of being stuck in the same place another year.
  21. Saw the team and the first thing that came to mind was that there were no goals in that team. That was a team (yet again) set up to counter the threat from the other team. FFS!!! That was Middlesbrough! We shouldn't spend one second thinking about what problems they can cause us. We should set out with a team that will scare the shıt out of them! Riise at left midfield? How many more times does he need to shoot from the middle of the field when we are in a good position before he gets sold? How many more times to we need to see him fail delivering the most simple of crosses? Gerrard doesn't seem to be able to play in a 4-4-2 if he's playing in the centre. He plays too deep that way and needs to be too "controlled". He needs to be told to just go out there and do whatever he wants. I'm tired of only seeing the "old" Gerrard when we are chasing the game and there's 10 min left of the game. Voronin, Crouch and Kuyt.... nothing to be said. Not of the required standard. Decent backup but nothing more. Finnan... wtf is happening to him? Babel only being a sub... fücking tired of that. Play him from the start. The lad got obvious talent and needs games. The back 4 and their hoofs have to stop. Why do we only start playing sort of good football when we go a goal down or are trying to win the game in the last 5 after yet another miserable display? I could go on and on but with every point made I realise more and more that most of these things depend on the decisions of Rafa. I've been one of his biggest supporters but there's not much more of this I can take.

  23. He was a convenient front man because he had the necessary contacts and know-how of running a football club after being the head of the Icelandic FA for several years and because he had enough money to finance 5% of the original purchase. Björgólfur needed someone with good contacts to run the place at the beginning. This is simply a fun project for him. He's the biggest sponsor of Icelandic football ever and has invested a whole lot of money into the sport here on Iceland. And he doesn't need to launder any money. Simply because all the money he got from the sale of the brewery has been invested over and over again in various companies. If there was anything dirty about the money it certainly wasn't anymore at the time he bought West Ham. And just FYI. I loath these guys. Björgólfur is the perfect example of the no-morals businessman. But he tends to stretch the laws and find the grey areas rather than actually break the laws.
  24. Probably not but it still makes more sense than thinking Egghead selling his 5% to Björgólfur has anything to do with money laundering....
  25. So any money made in Russia needs to be laundered? And if it needed laundering... why would they use a high profile football club to do it when they already have other much more important investments up and running?
