  1. I'd love Zidane to win it. For a player as great as he's been, it'd be fantastic to see his final act in professional football is lifting the World Cup.
  2. Very harsh on Cafu and Nedved tbh. But apart from that, I'd agree, although I'm not sure Klasnic and Donovan were ever taken seriously in the first place, outside their own countries. Id also add Beckham (of course) and Deco to that list.
  3. Happy with that. Good signing, and with Trabelsi looking like coming in too, we've finally got options down the right
  4. I can see Germany winning it. Argentina have been the best team ths far, beating them will give them an almighty confidence boost, and the home crowd will roar them all the way! Can see the French reaching the final too now.
  5. Italy. Basically because I'd win £200 if they do. If not Italy, then I just hope whoever plays the best football from here on in, and whoever plays in an attacking manner, wins it. Get a feeling Germany may well do it though.
  6. For me, it's nothing to do with players, players come and go, it's the supporters, the media, the whole package of everything surrounding the England team. Never supported the, ever. Not when they booed John Barnes just because he was John Barnes, not when they sing there stupid xenephobic songs. Seeing 70,000 odd cockneys sitting at Wembley ALL wearing S*n hats and singing You'll Never Walk Alone at Euro '96 is one of the most skin-crawling things I've ever witnessed. I have no feelings for them, will never support them. Besides all that, I don't exactly think patriotism is necessarily something to aspire too much anyway.
  7. Leonardo's been very good actually, one of the few pundits on there I don't mind. Hansen's just turned into a joke, can't believe he's got as bad as he has.
  8. It was a decent game, it did hold my nterest, and it was a great goal to win it, but the commentator was going on about how it was the greatest game he'd ever seen, just nonsence.
  9. I couldn't believe how much of a w***fest they had over that game last night. It was OK, good in the first half, not quite as good after that, but a decent game nevertheless. But the way they're going over the top is incredible. You expect more from the BBC, there coverage is just turning into a joke. Is exactly right
  10. Brazil, Spain, France or Ghana
  11. It's made worst by the fact that his inclusion is usually at the expense of Gerrard, who nearly always has to play out of position to accomidate him.
  12. To be fair, Carrick was pretty good, but I think it's when ppl like Hansen talk about him giving a 'masterclass' that winds ppl up. Carrick was probably a 7 out of 10, nothing special, but did well. Cant believe none of them have mentioned how poor Lampard was though.
  13. What's with the constant singing of God Save The Queen, it's not even the English national anthem ffs
  14. The only heartening thing was when you saw Rooney's stomach hanging over his shorts, nice to see a professional athlete with a bigger belly than me!
  15. Mexico are a good side, miles ahead of Ecuador.
  16. If Ecuador had a single player who could at least deliver a half decent ball into the box, England would be out now.
  17. Stumble into the quarters despite being totally ordinary at best. Starting to think Sven's claim that he's a lucky manager are true. Lampard has been atrocious throught the entire World Cup.

  19. Just a shame Europe didn't know about it! Europe's loss
  20. I always hated those pricks (usually fans who never went to a game) who used him as a scapegoat towards the end of his career. Even when he moved to the middle late on his career, he still had more ability than most of the rest of our squad put together. Even when we played against Boro on Ravanelli's debut in 96, Ravanelli said he was the best player on the pitch even then!
