  1. I think it will be Alonso and Zenden - holding, Momo and Stevie - attacking (or at least further up the field)
  2. Boro are reported to be open to offers of around £3million for Viduka, who scored 16 goals for them last season, according to the Daily Mirror. Well, Viduka is not an "edge of the seat"-signing, but bringing in two proven PL strikers (Viduka and Bellamy) for under £10 million would be very good business in my opinion...
  3. Jermaine or Cass?
  4. Best move Souness has ever made as a manager
  5. This content is not viewable to guests.
  6. "Newcastle defenders Titus Bramble and Craig Moore could be included in the squad for Sunday's Premiership clash with Liverpool. Both men have recovered from hamstring problems and Bramble has a chance of playing."
  7. Police have confirmed three Middlesbrough fans were stabbed and 10 others injured during violent clashes with Roma supporters. Anyone think that Italian clubs will be banned from Europe ? Weren´t Liverpool fans treated in the same way before the 1984 European cup final against Roma?

    Suddenly

Arsenal has got the easiest run in and they are playing well. If Henry stays healthy we have to fight hard to keep them behind us. Wenger seems confident that they will overtake us and grab third place....
  9. Riise is out for up to three weeks according to Liverpool.no
  10. I agree that Arsenal look good at the moment and that they play "neat" football. But they have been ALLOWED to do so. If we play aggressively and physically they will struggle, like they do against Bolton and Blackburn.
  11. That would be my team as well
  12. If we take one point from our game at Highbury we´re eleven points clear of Arsenal with nine games to go. Then I will feel safe. If we lose however, the gap will only be eight points with us having a very difficult away game at Newcastle next. Arsenal are on a bit of a run at the moment and seems to have rediscovered their quick passing game. We one the other hand, are in a bit of a slump and tiredness will become a factor after a very long season. Spurs are only six points behind us but they have got a tricky run in. Am I too negative thinking that we´re not yet have sealed a place in next years qualification rounds of the Champions league?
  13. We have got Alonso and Hamann as holding cm and Stevie and Momo to play in front of either of them. Hamann is ageing and I would surely take Barton, who is perfectly capable of playing the holding role, as a replacement for him. If Momo doesn´t recover (I hope he will of course) Nolan would be a good replacement in the attacking/supporting midfield role. He doesn´t cover as much ground as Momo does (but who does?) but scores a lot more and is a tough sob. Zenden hasn´t played a lot in cm for us because of Harry´s injury, but he did well at cm for Boro. Not sure if he´s more suited to the holding role or the more attacking role though...

    Sissoko

Feck. I feel so sorry for Momo. And If we look at our team central midfield was one of our strongest areas. If the worst fears come true we´ll have to find replacements for both Hamann (ageing) and Sissoko in the summer. Plus a right mid and a striker. Does anyone know if the club is compensated through an insurance if Momo could never play again and if so with how much money?
  15. Furthermore Alonso and Hamann are both just one yellow away from suspension in the champions league, if I remember correctly.
  16. Who is the closest of making the step in your opinion (in central midfield)?
  17. With Zenden and possibly Momo out for season I´m a little worried over the rest of the season. Didi and Xabi is in my opinion not the ideal partnership. The can rotate in the holding role but Gerrard will have a very heavy workload if he is going to play every game in front of either of them. And neither Cisse nor Garcia is an ideal solution on the right. Maybe Kromkamp can play there? I would´nt want to split up our excellent defence by playing Finnan at rm. Furthermore it´s vital that Didi, Xabi and Gerrard stay healthy, because now we don´t have adequate replacements for them. Is anyone from the reserves ready to step forward?
  18. No, apparently there is a gentlemens agreement that Fowler can´t play against city.
  19. Just love these Mourinho quotes: "The fact that we had to play 10 versus 11 when it should have been 11 versus 11 changed everything. "To play with 10 is always difficult, even against a small team. Against a good team, of course it's more difficult. "We had to face them again with 10 players - not for a small period of time. "At 11 versus 11, we beat them last season. At 11 versus 11, this game was open. At 11 versus 11, we were winning in Barcelona. At 10 versus 11 it is always difficult. "Can Messi be suspended for acting? Barcelona is a very cultural city. You know all about theatre. You have theatres of high quality." The Chelsea boss is still annoyed that midfielder Michael Essien is missing the tie because UEFA issued a suspension for a foul missed by the referee in a group game against Liverpool. "Essien was quite correctly suspended for it after the game. "So what can we do now? Can we take back the red card from Del Horno? Can we revoke his suspension from the Nou Camp?

    Sissoko

Well it says "damage" to the retina, not a "detached" retina. Let´s hope for the best.

    Sissoko

According to Reuters a spokesman (dr Joao Paco) for the hospital in Lisboa where Momo is staying has said that Momo is being examined and treated by an eye specialist and that they are awaiting a verdict from the latter. No need for panic, yet...

    Sissoko

Found this on the internet: "Around eight out of 10 retinal detachments are successfully repaired with a single operation. In the remaining cases, the retina detaches again and needs another operation. The final success rate is over 95 per cent. Whether or not your vision returns depends on the extent and location of the retinal detachment, rather than the success or failure of the operation. For example, the part of the retina responsible for central vision is called the macula. If the macula has detached, it is unlikely that full vision will ever return, even if the operation succeeded in reattaching the retina."

Which means? Career threatening? Out for season?
  24. Is that Wes Brown standing next to Hamill?
  25. Been out for almost two weeks. Plays 45 minutes for the reserves and know he´s out of the Wigan game. Hope it´s not serious, because we could do with a little flair at the moment
