Rafa chose Didi to take the first crucial penalty kick. What faith he has in Didi's professionalism. Hope he is wearing a Red's shirt again next season. If not, I truly wish him well! He has been a great servant of this club!

I am not the greatest fan of Kewell but he did have a pretty decent seaon and has played well in Cup games. He should not have started against AC Milan and should have come off, when injured, today. We had three subs and needed a healthy body. The poor choice would have been to stay on the pitch and possibly hurt his side.

What he stated was the truth. Real Madrid is always going to be "his team" but he is a professional and wants to end his career at Liverpool. He must have a serious affection for this team or he would just head home and finish his career. Now about his worth to this team, that may be debated.

In essence Rafa has just upgraded the right side. Finnan and Kromkamp have both played for their country. They are actually very similar in that both started as right midfielders and moved to right back. Kromkamp is probably a bit better offensively and Finnan, in our system, is very good defensively. The difference between the two players may be closer than most think. It will be hard for Krompkamp to displace Stevie because Finnan has been at the club, played well for the club, and has the confidence of his teammates. Kromkamp can only earn that by playing and playing well. What I like best about this deal is Rafa has once again increased his "possibilities," and at a knockdown price. Instead of "debating" Finnan's worth as opposed to a player that has yet to perform in the EPL, let us be thankful Rafa is our Manager and give our newest Red, when he arrives, confidence and a chance to settle in! I don't usually condone that behavior but I am tired of seeing teams take cheap shots ar our players. After Cisse's injury, Alonso's injury and some of the tackles on our players this year (Essien on Hamann), it just seemed good that our players reacted as a team and stood up for each other. That alone may discourage other teams from similar type behavior.
