Honestly. I hear so much about soccer being the No. 1 participation sport these days in the FAI's jurisdiction, they should be able to scrape together a fecking squad. Some little fecker who grows up dreaming of playing for Scotland or England or Wales and pulls on the relevant underage national jersey and has proud photos taken on what is at that point the greatest day of his soccer life shouldn't be allowed come and play for his fecking granny's country if there turns out to be three better players in his position on his British team in another two or three years' time. Not in this day and age. The FAI might keep raising the bar like that but is there not a better way of improving the talent pool, with healthier long-term effects? NEVER! Ah sure we'll see.
