  1. Well Luis is coming home 10 days sooner than expected. Fine by me.
  2. They'll have a job fielding a full XI if they go far in this tournament.
  3. Senegal, more cards than Clinton.
  4. This is mental, Uruguay are battering Senegal, but now losing 2-0.
  5. Suarez just destroyed the Senegal defence for pace, was racing through and then got cynically hacked by a Senegal CB who had already been booked. Straight red from the ref, rightly so - the crowd of idiots at Wem-ber-leee applauds the red-carded hacker as he walks off and continues booing Luis... Channel 551 on Virgin media if you've got it. If not, try this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00w2vdc
  6. Taking that all into account - he is clearly championing the need for proof beyond reasonable doubt in order to establish guilt when it comes to John Terry's case. He most definitely was doing no such thing back in January when Luis was in the FA 'dock'.
  7. He backs the FA ruling on Suarez, which came via the balance of probability, yet criticises the very same process when talking about Terry facing the same panel.
  8. Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this....
  9. It's definitely a recent issue, the notices didnt used to be there. They went up at some point in November just gone, i think. I used to park there all the time and specifically made a point, every so often, of checking if they'd put up a 'maximum stay' warning.
  10. Was it a little s***, circa about 15 or 16 years old, wearing a high-vis jacket? If so, i had a run-in with him once as well, at that corner. I pulled up to park in the 'free' parking bay right where the pub was, and he came over to try and charge me to park there. I asked what he was charging for, and the dolt tried to claim that, because it was right next to where the pub was, it was part of the pub's 'land' and no different for the on-site space they charge for. I told him it was a public road, not part of the pub's land and the parking sign itself even said 'free' (obviously this means free of restrictions, rather than no charge) but the point was still valid. He told me that if i didnt pay him, he'd have to....wait for it.....tell the landlord. I ended up moving the car simply because i didnt want to leave it there, after the dispute i'd had with him, for fear of coming back to see it smashed or damaged. But yeah, the little tw*t. I've been waiting years for the inevitable, but as of yet, amazingly, that Asda still hasnt brought in a parking limit. I've been parking there for years.
  11. Very good.
  12. It's not the 'normal human being' way either, in fairness. He's a vile creature.
  13. Not a chance. The two pleb owners we had before and Diouf are miles ahead of him in the 'hate' stakes.
  14. Aye, that's the catch-22 situation right there. I want to go there and piss on his pathetic 'unbeaten' record - and i want him relegated. But i also want him to bring his no-mark team back to Anfield next season, so he can face the music. Both cant happen unfortunately.
  15. Interesting.... bensmith_times SSN 'breaking news' is misleading. #lfc owners have decided on Hodgson's future ... simply a matter of when not if he goes 19 minutes ago via web And.... thisisanfield A statement from Liverpool Football Club is expected shortly... #lfc 25 minutes ago via web
  16. No need to panic about a lack of press conference - there wouldnt be one anyway. More likely to be a statement or 'press release'.
  17. Right, i'm off out to get bladdered. Happy NY all.
  18. Dunno who this guy is, but: Julian_Lee76 Julian Lee RT @chrisberry86: Happy new year! #LFC players to attend meeting at Melwood tomo, board meeting at 8am
  19. The Barclay piece isnt 'the story'. This is the story: Roy Hodgson’s apology too late to save his Liverpool career Tony Barrett 1 minute ago Roy Hodgson has apologised to Liverpool fans for questioning their support, but his contrition has come too late to safeguard his future as manager after the club’s owner, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), determined that he is not the man to take the club forward. Though Hodgson is only six months into the three-year contract he signed last summer, he will be ousted as soon as a high-calibre replacement can be identified and recruited. The 63-year-old has made it clear that he will not tender his resignation despite presiding over Liverpool’s worst start to a season for 57 years and his relationship with the club’s supporters breaking down, so FSG will effectively take the decision out of his hands by actively targeting his successor. Should the right man become available Hodgson’s departure will be confirmed before the end of the season, although FSG will continue to bide its time in a bid to ensure that the problems facing the club are not exacerbated by any short-term decisions, as was the case last summer after the removal of Rafael Benítez. Hodgson was in damage-limitation mode yesterday, apologising to supporters for his assertion that they had failed to back him. But his remorse appeared to cut little ice, with an online petition calling for his immediate dismissal attracting more than 11,000 signatories and demanding “a manager of greater quality”. Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday was a setback too far for both fans and owners in a season in which embarrassing results have become a regular occurrence. Hodgson attempted to build bridges before today’s home match against Bolton Wanderers. “It is a cliché but we do need time, patience and support, and the support from our fans at this club is of vital importance because that is what has made the club great through the years,” he said yesterday. “We need that support and we need them [the supporters] to get behind us because things aren’t going well.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- # JimBoardman For those asking, no, this isn't an official press release. There wouldn't ever be one giving out that kind of info of course. 2 minutes ago via web * Reply * Retweet # Jim Boardman JimBoardman There'll be more coverage of that story in the Telegraph too tonight. 4 minutes ago via web * Reply * Retweet # Jim Boardman JimBoardman That's the main part of the story from The Times, as written by Tony Barrett. And I know it's based on info from an impeccable source. 4 minutes ago via web JimBoardman So, Roy hasn't been sacked. But his days are as officially numbered as they can be without him actually being sacked. 2 minutes ago via web
  20. I dont even think Roy AIMS for that, let alone thinks it.
  21. Do you think we'll even manage to win 5 this season?
  22. Last season was obviously shoite. We had 13 away wins under rafa in 2008-2009, though. That's the same as Roy has in his whole management career, in england.

If today was 'not the right time to throw him on', then he shouldnt be on the bench. What if Lucas or Mascherano (or even Gerrard) had gone injured? Is Rafa seriously suggesting he picked 7 subs, but only 6 of them could have actually come on if needed? Just sounds silly. If someone's on the bench, they should be available whenever needed. If it's the wrong time for them to play, why put them on the bench at all?
