Paying more than we sold him for is completely irrelevant. When we sold him he was player who wanted to try his luck abroad and he had just a year left on his contract - hence his value was £8mil. If we were to sign him back in the Summer we would be getting a more experienced player who had learned that the grass wasn't actually greener on the other side - and he would be on a 4 or 5 year contract. So it would be a completely different proposal. What we sold him for would be irrelevant to the deal.
