Voronin can't control the ball, plays poor passes and offers no real threat. Kuyt has a terrible first touch, no pace and offers no real threat. Crouch is frustrating to watch, gives away loads of fouls, loses the ball a lot but can finish a bit. They are not great players being crippled by a system. Two of them are poor players, the other is mediocre. Baros is a lot better than any of them, and that's no great compliment.

Babel has been so much better than Riise at left mid. Really annoying he isn't playing more.

Agreed. Both are - at best - mid-table premier league players. I would sell both for whatever we could get just to get them out of the cub. Neither should be anywhere near the first team. Worst I've seen us play this season. Absolutely shambolic performance. I hope Rafa uses all three subs now. Same feeling as the last days of Houllier - some good players but some real dross too. I'm not surprised Gerrard looks pissed off with Voronin - he's giving it away and failing to control it every time the ball goes near him.

Christ its frustrating. Riise is bad at left back and awful at lef-mid. Meanwhile Babel sits on the bench and Kewell not even in the squad. Putting Torres next to Voronin is like getting Henry to play with Erik Meijer.

So would I, as I've said in other threads. I'm becoming less convinced by Xabi as time goes on (in the Premier League anyway). Mascherano IMO is a mile better defensively, gets further forward (becuase he is much quicker) and his distribution is improving fast.

The five games we've drawn this season at home make very depressing reading. In four of them we were ahead. If we'd healf those leads we'd be three points beheind Arsenal with a game in hand. (Having said that I still think the inability to get the second goal - in all those games except Spurs - is what has really cost us.)

I'd quite like to know this figure for every season at Liverpool. I think Xabi is an excellent footballer but I'm still not totally convinced by him in the premier league.

We disagree on Kewell tonight but I suspect we agree on the broader point which is that none of the other attacking players contribute enough. I still think that if Xabi is not contributing enough either: too few assists, too few decisive passes (which is what you want from a playmaker).
