    Torres - goals

No he won't. Fowler got 28 league goals in 95-96 and 25 the year before. Premier League started in 1992-93.

    Steven Gerrard

And we only got the penalty once Momo had gone off and been replaced with a more attacking player - which gets conveniently forgotten.

    Steven Gerrard

Given that we have played that way in a number of games you don't think he was following the managers orders to keep it tight in the first half before looking to press on in the 2nd half ? Rafa has said on a number of occasions after games that that was the gameplan. Should it not be the managers tactics that you're questioning not the actions of just one of 11 ..... especially if the rest of the team follow the same pattern?
  4. So you really think he's playing in a different way to what Rafa is telling him to play?
  5. Do you think thats down to him or do you think Rafa is telling him to play that role?
  6. Gerrard really can't do anything right for a certain group on here can he? If he holds a constrained role in the centre he gets criticised for not getting forward enough If he bombs all over the pitch he gets criticised for not holding his position in the centre If he plays on the right and doesn't play well (having said that he doesn't feel comfortable there) then he gets criticised for sulking If he doesn't act like Roy Keane - being a totally different personality - then hes not bothered about the club - and if he did act like Keane doubtless he'll be hammered for ruining team spirit
  7. Given that G&H have needed to allocate £60m of the new loans to fund initial stadium work, how had they intended to begin work on the previous HKS design? Is this just further proof that they don't intend to build anything? I'm not convinced that a flashy new stadium isn't just a marketing ploy to improve the perceived cost of the club to allow them to cash in without having to actually do anything at all. I can see this £60m being carefully sidetracked to fund dividends to them both.
  8. Didn't Parry make a point of saying that we didn't budget on being in the CL?
  9. Own us? The Glazers own your team. And you know what you can do with your posters of Best and Charlton .......
  10. Will be interesting to see what happens to the incoming money ............
  11. Latest from the Echo about Momo and Hobbs could be out on loan, perhaps meaning rumours of Agger being out for the season are wrong as would have thought we'd want 2 CB's as cover? TALKS between Liverpool and Juventus over the proposed transfer of Momo Sissoko are at an advanced stage, the ECHO can reveal. Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri has made the Reds midfielder his number one target during the January transfer window and Sissoko is hopeful a £9m deal will be sealed in the next 72 hours. “It’s a matter of a few days,” Sissoko told the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. “A maximum of four days and then everything will be decided. I know there has been some movement but we have to wait. “I’ve known Ranieri since my time at Valencia and I did really well with him. I confess that wearing the Juventus shirt would be the maximum for me.” Should the proposed go through, it will represent a tasty £3.5m profit for Liverpool who signed Sissoko for £5.5m from Valencia in 2005. Another player heading for the Anfield exit door, albeit temporarily, is promising teenage centre back Jack Hobbs. Championship outfit Sc***horpe United are looking to take the 19-year-old on loan until the end of this season and, having recently acquired the services of Martin Skrtel, Reds boss Rafa Benitez is keen for Hobbs to get more first team experience. Sc***horpe manager Nigel Adkins has identified Hobbs as the player he wants to bring in to shore up his leaky defence which has conceded 43 league goals already this season. Alvaro Arbeloa has been ruled out of action for three weeks with an abdominal injury picked up against Aston Villa on Monday and Andriy Voronin is anxiously awaiting the results of tests on an ankle injury sustained during training yesterday. Meanwhile, doubts persist about Tom Hicks’ ability to deliver on his pledge to complete a £350m refinancing deal with the Royal Bank of Scotland and Wachovia. Sources close to the deal insist it will be difficult to tie up all the loose ends today and it could be tomorrow or even Monday before it is finally concluded. DIC remain interested in buying the club from Hicks and co-owner George Gillett and are waiting in the wings should there be any last minute hitches with refinancing.
  12. Were these credit notes for Torres and Babel secured against themselves or the club? Anyway todays Echo article says that they amount to be secured against themselves is only the £180m paid to buy the shares and this doesn't include the £44m of debt they - supposedly - cleared from the club or anything else in addition - including the loans for players in the summer. So IF the Echo is correct then if it isn't secured against the club now it soon will be.
  13. Yes it would be OK as long as the additional revenue more than covers the loan and and allows additional investment in players. Thats what anyone else - bar an Abramovic - would do. Whats not OK is loading the cost of the purchase of the club onto itself - and if DIC plan to do the same then - to me - I don't think that's acceptable either, unless they at least match the repayment amounts with additional funds from themselves (why they would do it that way I don't know but it may be financially prudent to do so, as long as the club is not worse off). Oh and why the abuse?
  14. They said they wouldn't load their debt of the purchase onto the club not the debt of the stadium. Unless we get an "Abramovich" the stadium is always going to be on the club, I'm sure DIC will do that as well given the opportunity. Moores would have done it if he felt he was able to offer the required security on it (and also being able to service the debt of the build before the enhanced income stream arrived) - and now probably wishes he had taken the risk.
  15. 2. Good point! Though if the agreement is they split any profit 50:50 then its Hicks to do what he wants with it - all depends on if they look to re-invest net profit into the club or not. The worry is they won't.
  16. Isnt Hicks planning to move all his sports franchises into one listed public company?
  17. From the BBC Gossip page George Gillett is to mull over whether to buy out Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks with the backing of Dubai International Capital. (Guardian, 1230 GMT) Note sure if a re-hash or a new piece from the Guardian
  18. From the BBC Gossip page Liverpool are being linked with a January bid for Real Madrid's former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze. (Eat SleepFootball.com - 09:22 GMT) Massively out of date or have we resurrected our interest?
  19. .... and Kev mentioned Kraft the other day.

    Hicks:

Well they say they feared he might walk and go to Real Madrid ........ But also said they were looking at Klinsman "in case our communication spiralled out of control for some reason.” So do you think they meant they would sack him in that case?
  21. If Gerrard, Arbeloa and Aurelio are out as well ............. Reina ? Carra Agger Insua Pennant Masch Sissoko Leto Kuyt Kewell
  22. Is everyone convinced Gerrard will be playing on the right? Looks like the Blackburn formation again to me Reina Finnan Carra Hyppia Arbeloa Lucas Momo Kuyt Gerrard Kewell Torres
