Lick

Any commentators going off at why man-marking at set-pieces may not be a good idea?

What are we expecting Babel to do in 8 minutes in the form he's in?

It's bizarre when you remember the right-footed goal he scored earlier in the season.

We might as well just give them ball back or let them take a goal kick for all the use our corners are. Nice effort from Albert before that though.

Carra showing Kuyt what to do in those positions...

Kuyt is having a mare. End of move every time he gets the ball.

f***ing ridiculous - Cech spills it 15 yards and no-one's anywhere near.

In 45 minutes of football at home, with all the possession we've had, we haven't had a single effort on target. That's where the problem is, and it's not exactly the first time we've ever had it. Although we're getting a bit more from the fullbacks today, we're getting almost nothing from Babel and Kuyt. Babel in particular is drifting inside and doing nothing there - his anticipation is poor and he doesn't gamble on flickons and the like. Even with him inside, there's rarely more than one target in the box, and Everton are clearing everything in the air with ease.

They've had more efforts on target than us now. Cahill did Alonso, and Skrtel seemed to be done by Lescott. Our usual zonal system didn't seem to exist.

Disgraceful performance. If someone can explain to me how you don't use your 3rd sub in that situation I'd be very pleased to hear.

I don't like being so critical but to wait as long as this before making the changes is ridiculous given the way we're playing.

Riera off? Seriously? Don't understand that at all. Presumably Kuyt right and Benayoun left.

f*** off with that stupid short corner routine... Edit: Christ my stream is slow. WTF Pepe is doing? Have we been on the piss all week or something?

Can't see too many positives right now. We had good possession and control but that's completely gone out of the window last 5. It's just like the second half of the Preston game - it doesn't feel secure. Riera's been giving the ball away with every touch. Gerrard's not in it at all, and Benayoun's his usual self - cluttering up the middle and not offering enough. When Benayoun comes inside you need the fullback to overlap and Carra's not going to do that enough. Hope we pick it up soon...

I can't honestly believe anyone could say with a straight face that Babel has had anything other than a poor game. He's contributed absolutely nothing.

Why would we say a bad word about anyone? According to you everything's fine. Never mind the missed sitters and the fact we're now defending pretty much non-stop and seem unable to keep the ball for 10 seconds. I'm sure you won't mind if we have a replay?

Lost the control we had in the first half now. Shows you again, if it were needed, what Xabi gives us on the pitch. We need to man up again now.

Keane's had more of them in half a season than Torres has probably had in his career. To be fair, it's usually 60 minutes rather than 90 though. It's a shame. I thought he'd be a good player for us and I hope he does come good in the end. Same with Babel.

You think people should just say nothing when our £20m striker misses 4 sitters in about 46 minutes? After half a season of mediocrity? While we're only 1-0 up these misses could be costly, regardless of how well we're playing.

Keane missing another one straight away... And Agger. This is ridiculous.

Hope Alonso's not too bad there at the end. Just seen the replay - looks a bit too much like bloody Fabregas for my liking. Otherwise it's been mostly good. Babel and Keane well below the rest of the team's performance. Insua still looking the business, Riera with a bit of quality, Xabi at the centre of most things. Why can't we finish things off though? So frustrating. Keane obviously the worst culprit, and I just can't understand what's happened to him. It can't all be put down to rotation surely?

And now Keane s***s it instead of shooting. Ridiculous

It's a shame we've done our usual slacking off once we've scored. 2 or 3 in and then we can relax. That was a terrible miss by Keane though. Worse than the other two by a mile. What has happened to him?

Would be nice to see Babel try to take his man on a bit more. He should really be contributing more against this sort of opposition. Feel a little sorry for Keane though - he's not a target man, but that's what he's being asked to do. I just hope we get a second or third before we take our foot off the pedal. And Babel air shots. Oops.

Riera's definitely getting better as the game goes on...
